LaRue Across America: Postcards From the Vacation (LaRue Books)

Not sure what the book is ultimately trying to portray beyond the experience of traveling with cats, because it could be trying to tell us that a person with health problems could leave their animals stranded should their health problems catch up with them. Other than that, the book left a question open for my daughter as well. The book, as far as I can tell, doesn't mention that they start in NY. Although it seems like that on the map. The first post card that mentioned a location was CT, but it was their first stop. It was curious for my daughter because map seemingly looks like the start location is right where we are, although Snort City is not actually a real city.

These stories are so wonderful my kindergarten class just loves them!

The Ike Larue books are awesome! I'm a fourth grade writing teacher, and I use several, including this one, to teach persuasive writing. Ike (a dog) writes letters to his owner, Mrs. LaRue, and he tries to be oooooooh so persuasive. Really cute book! I love the map in this one that shows all the places in the U.S. that Ike and company travel.

I love these stories about Ike LaRue and his exploits. LaRue is a family name which makes it even more fun.

Cute story, kept my kids attention.

What fun traveling the country with LaRue, his owner and their "delightful" feline neighbors. This story is full of misadventures as the travelers try to deal with each other and often annoy and antagonize each other. The illustrations punctuate the story with exaggerations and teasing throughout the travels across the U.S.

Everyone in my family has fallen in love with Ike, the canine scamp who paints himself as a paragon. Big and colorful, the volumes in this series make wonderfully quirky coffee table books. We wish there were more of them.

As a teacher, who needed a wide-range of quality texts about our topic, I was happy to fall upon this book! What a lovely treasure this is! My class love the fact that it is signed as well form Mark himself! I can't wait to use this as a focus in some of our lessons!
