Tsunami Forged Silver Lever Drag Conventional Jigging Reel New

New to conventional reels but been fishing for 30 years. Bought two of them for near shore fishing and they did not disappoint. The reels are solid, nicely built, and since they are forged aluminum instead of machined, they save some cost. The finish is nice and functional. If you want a museum piece, this isn’t it, but if you want a great value and a very functional reel, this is what you want. I matched this reel with the Tsunami slow pitch jigging rod 7’ H. Lined with 50 pound power pro super slick 8 braid in hi vis yellow. Looks great and performs even better. I was actually hand trolling Yusuri deep diving minnows when I hooked into a 30 pound striped bass off of Atlantic City during their fall run. The rod and reel handled the fish with easy. Never felt over powered and in fact, because of the parabolic nature of the slow pitch rod and the power of this reel, it was a very enjoyable fight. The reel has been soaked with salt water spray and I actually took a day or two to wash them down (I’m not the best with maintenance). I sprayed some Rem Oil on them and they were ready for the next trip. The reel is smooth enough, the lever drag is easy to use and power handle makes the balance on the reel nice to fight fish. I bought an Avet purple reel for my son (because that’s the color he wanted) and I think the Tsunami is a much better reel at a lower price. I wish Tsunami came out with the Forged 12 already because I wanted to buy them as well, but had to pay more and get an Accurate (which I am very happy with).

I haven't used it yet due to the Corona shinanagans but it feels really solid and looks fantastic. I put it in my scale to set the drag and it was delivering more than advertised at the strike position with plenty of travel left on the drag control knob.Ok finally got out and broke her in right. Stop looking and buy it. It is so much more powerful than I could have imagined. smooth, leverage, and casts a mile. My shimano torium and Penn torque feel like junk compared to this reel. I'm looking for a bad ass rod for this beast.

Good mechanics so far. Action is smooth, but Drsg lever has a slight catch before engaging drag, but not bad. Lots of power in this little package. Will see how takes to being used regular basis while being washed and wiped each time. See how she goes, but so far so good.

I have an accurate boss and I like fishing with this one just as much. light, and strong. Great for jigging.

I can't really say anything good or bad about this reel because I didn't use it. It seems like it is well built and I could tell that it has a good drag system (wide range of adjustment) but it just felt too "geary" for my liking. There was a couple times when I was turning the handle when it felt like the gears actually jumped a tooth. I was afraid it was going to give problems down the road so I traded it in for a daiwa saltist. It's probably a great reel but I don't like taking chances.

Very good quality and awesome real I pulled in a 26 lb yellow tail with little effort you really can't go wrong with this product

Wow! I really Love this reel, small, lightweight, but still plenty of line capacity and drag to handle BIG fish.
