Samson SAKGR25 Graphite 25 USB MIDI Keyboard Controller

Excellent
An absolute gem! I had been searching for an upgrade to my midi keyboard and there are many on the market, a few I ordered and returned because they were terrible. However this keyboard shines well above all of the ones I tried. The keys are wonderful to play with a silky professional feel to them. There is a transpose button to die for so user friendly with a simple up-down button, so many are far to complex or do not exist. The LCD screen is nice an d big and displays everything. Very user friendly. It has presets for most DAWs and with a press of a button I could select Cubase and without the need to do much else it controlled my daw. I was used to a 61 note keyboard but find I don't really miss the notes and that 49 is just fine which does save room. All the buttons, knobs and faders are well designed, well laid out, and of good quality, as is the entire keyboard. Highly recommended.

Nice build but not as compatible as they claim in the blurb
I would have given it 5 stars if it was compatible with Steinberg Cubase but the mapping programmed into it isn't remotely compatible and I object to having to spend hours reprogramming instruments/controllers to work.It does work perfectly with Reason 5 though. The unit is heavy for a 49 key keyboard; a lot heavier than I thought it would be but it seems well put together.Delivery took extra time because the couriers couldn't be bothered to deliver on a Friday and either it never left the depot or the driver couldn't be bothered to stop. It was well packaged by Amazon but Hermes managed to put a huge hole through the package so I wasn't too impressed. If I had a choice of couriers I wouldn't choose Hermes

A lot of midi controller for the money. High quality appearance and feel and easier to use than other controllers I've used due to the screen. The keyboard touch seems a little heavy to me but perhaps that's because I'm used to a light, organ action. Very impressed.

Excellent value for money
Amazing value for money. Was originally trying to justify a Nektar Panorama P4 to myself, but I'm glad I bought this and saved some cash. The keybed isn't the best in the world but I've played a lot worse. These must be the bargain of the decade to be honest.

A disapointment
The keys are pretty good (semiweighted, aftertouch, fullsize) hence the 3 stars but... plastic 'metal' top, wobbly faders and pots, awful configuration software, cheap materials, looks like it is backlit...but isnt, pads are utterly useless and generally a let down. Samson should stick to the gear they do well.

Not a bad piece of kit
Not a bad piece of kit; The only negative is that the 4 drum pads are not particularly responsive and need quite a heavy "tap" to get any sound regardless of the "velocity" setting chosen in the setup. Other than that, does what I wanted it to do.
