Sturdy
This umbrella base has worked well for us this summer. Holds our umbrella up like a champ. Even though summer storms it hasn’t had any issues. We filled it with water and it’s worked well. The size and shape have been good.

Great umbrella stand when filled with sand!
I had another similar product to this previously, and filled it with water. Of course, it would crack in the colder weather, if not, drained, completely, and the water sloshing was just a big pain in the butt. So I put the investment in buying some sandbags, and slowly filling this with a funnel. The hole could have honestly been bigger to fill with sand, but I understand That it was set up for a water hose. But once filled with sand, this is the sturdiest umbrella base with ever owned. The picnic table will blow away before the umbrella stand us!

A simple design
Today, on 2023/05/16, this Amazon product page includes 19 different options of just the umbrella base, just the umbrellas of different colors, two pack of just umbrellas, and an umbrella with a base. I just want to clarify that this review is for the "Simple Deluxe 20" Round Heavy Duty Patio Umbrella Base Stand with Steel Umbrella Holder." If you look at the color and size section of the review, it would show "Black" and "20inch."This is a good umbrella base. It seems to be made well, and arrived without defects. One thing that was different from Amazon's product page (photo and description) and what I received was that the umbrella base included collars with internal diameters of 48 mm (1.88 in), 39 mm (1.53 in), and 32 mm (1.25 in). In one of the Amazon product photos, it shows two collars of 1.57 in and 1.96 in, and I assume they mean internal diameters. The product description includes "Plastic insert on top of steel tube is suitable for Φ1.5"(38mm)-Φ1.9"(48mm) umbrella pole."The umbrella would obviously be sturdier if it goes through a table, but on a calm day without winds, this base alone is just fine.Today's price is $28.99. There are a large variety of umbrella bases with different designs, but this one is probably the least expensive, simplest, and most versatile one. Being able to drain the water, you can easily store the base indoors when it's not needed outside. However, having water inside the base means that when it begins to drop below freezing, it cannot be used outside.

The answer to my quest
I needed some solid support for my new two 10 ft umbrellas. They are standalone (not used in a table or other furniture). After years of inadequate support from smaller bases and picking up umbrellas off the ground or from being blown into neighbor’s yards, I thoroughly researched sizes and weights. 100+ lbs base capacity was recommended to support each 10ft umbrella. These bases are exactly what I needed: they firmly support the umbrellas with 2 screws at the stem, the base can be filled with water or sand and best of all- they have wheels so they can be moved with ease. Be prepared, the base footprint is big, but it needs to be to offer the required support. Weight and base diameter are everything in this quest for a stable umbrella. Be sure to check umbrella stem diameter against the base diameter opening. I do try to be cognizant of weather and winds - and close the umbrellas so as not to leave anything to chance.

Sturdy, so far
The umbrella stand, filled with water and some anti-freeze and in a stand-alone condition, has been able to hold the umbrella up-right against winds estimated up to 15 mph that we've experienced here locally, so far. It also looks nice, and without the water, it is lightweight to carry.

good purchase
saw an almost identical item in my local grocery store for like $60. this was a way better value, holds the umbrella just fine, has a rubberized base so it doesnt scratch my stamped concrete patio, no complaints

Directions completely wrong
The “direction” (actually just a picture) is totally wrong for the product. Pieces pictured that don’t exist Cosme pieces are internal which is not clear. The biggest issue I had was the fact you have to fill the damn base with water or sand BEFORE you screw the bottom blare to the shirt pole that holds the umbrella requiring a strong person to tip the base sideways while you try to attach the top and bottom pieces with a screw i thought was too short initially. The piece with the ribbing actually goes in the base not on the top of it like the picture shows.had to take it apart and do it again. So much aggravation that could have been prevented with a better design (allow you to fill the damn thing AFTER you assemble it) and garbage directions.

Works great
Good value. I like that I could fill it with water once I put it in place on top of a plant stand with wheels so I could move it around. It's unfortunate tho I didn't know the nut on the bottom is not stainless steel it left wmall rust stains on my paver before I put it on the plant stand.
