If you want to a snapshot into what’s being learnt throughout year 7 science lessons, this little book will provide it with 7 questions in each 10 min test on a variety of subjects. Use this to complement learning through lessons or other workbooks and to test knowledge on subjects split as per the national curriculum.

I've noticed a trend in these series of books where it aims to cover a wide variety of subjects, succeeds on that goal but sacrifices the depth that it can go into for each topic.This book is similar, where it goes through a lot of the science curriculum for year 7, but does so at such a superficial level that you don’t have much confidence that it is well covered. Also, to clarify this doesn’t claim to teach anything, but to question and verify that the child has learnt the concepts. But because there are so few questions per topic, it doesn’t cover most of the parts of the topic and feels like a random quiz. Wouldve been better to either have a lot more questions per topic and be a thicker book, or try and tackle a smaller breath of topics and gone deeper. It consists of 36 workouts, each designed to be completed in 10 minutes, with the idea being to complete one a week. The questions vary in style which helps to accommodate different learners.The layout is clear and concise, it's quite text heavy and dense with minimal illustrations but this isn't a bad thing to help students become used to more academic textbooks and resources. The workouts are divided into the core science subjects of physics, chemistry and biology and aligned to the national curriculum as you'd expect, although there may be some variation in the order particular schools will cover the various topics.There are answers included as well which is helpful for checking the students work (or for parents who've forgotten the science they learned at school).Overall a really useful resource which helps to encourage good study and revision habits as well as a handy check to flag up whether each topic has been fully understood as the student progresses through the school year.

Absolutely fantastic educational resource book from a trusted educational publisher, contains everything I need to assist in the education of my daughter who is home educated, clear concise and informative with additional Q and A's to go along side. A must for educators.
