Larger box version of a modern trick-taking classic
This is a light game you play through in a lot of quick sessions, that doesn't require a lot of focus.I consider it an enjoyable version of that sort of game -- It has some room for strategizing, agonizing moments, and clever little maneuverings. And it includes a well-realized theme of spudly super heroes and villains, which manifests in one of the main gimmicks of certain low cards (featuring Potato Man) always beating the very highest cards (featuring the evil Lord Fry).The other (and primary) gimmick is a "must not follow" rule -- meaning you are NOT allowed to play a suit that has already been played this hand. In other words, every hand until the end of a round will feature one of each suit. This little variation from the traditional suit-following of trick taking games switches things up enjoyably and works nicely with the other little mechanisms.If you're looking for something small, cheap, portable, easy to teach, familiar, and yet a little bit different, with a simple but fun theme, this is a good option.As opposed to the other, smaller version, in this one the cards are a little bit higher quality, and the box is big enough to comfortable fit them, even if you sleeve them. It's still a pretty small box (about twice the thickness of the other, and only a titch large in the other dimensions).

This game is SPUD-tastic!
My family of four, including a nine-year-old and eleven-year-old had an absolute blast playing this game. Instructions are provided as a one-page, double-sided pamphlet and as easy reference cards. It's easy and quick to learn, has an element of strategy (though not so complicated that the youngest couldn't pick it up), and offers supersized fun. The cards are excellent quality---thick, glossy, and easy to bridge shuffle. The box is sturdy, and both the box and the cards have colorful, detailed artwork that the kids find hilarious.Gameplay lasted about thirty minutes for four rounds, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed every minute of play.This game is a must. We all can't wait to play it again and share it with friends.
