Not as good as OEM & too big
If you have ADD/ADHD like me, and/or just don't want to read the review, here is a synopsis:It works and produces a taste better than my tap water BUT it is FAR inferior to the OEM filters so if you have the money buy the OEM filters. On with the details!I had been using OEM (same as the one factory installed) replacement filters for my fridge for the 5 years that I have had it. I decided to check out 3rd party replacements as a money saving measure. On with the problems:*InstallationIt cannot be installed into my refrigerator with the top shelf in the top position, which is where mine is. Once the shelf is removed the installation wasn't the best. There are no marks on the product to indicate where to line up the filter or when it is in the locked position. So you can't judge how far to turn it to lock it in place. My refrigerator filter mount seemed to "move" a bit when installing the second filter. In other words, these filters are a bit too snug.* Look/tasteThen the water that came out during the initial flush was less than desirable. It was milky and looked like it had sand in it. No, there wasn't sand, but if you think about a glass of watered down skim milk with sand mixed in...that's what I saw. Once the flush was done it did return to an overly aerated bubbly look. The bubbles did go away if the water sat for a minute or two.The first glass of water wasn't the best tasting so I flushed it a little more. That helped with the bubbly look. The taste of subsequent glasses was just OK. Not nearly as good as the OEM. I drink a lot of tea and can confirm the quality/taste of my tea made with this water just isn't as good as the OEM filter. In fact, my brita pitcher at work produces a better cup of tea**.* SpecificationsSo, being the nerd I am, I decided the taste difference warranted a look at the specs of the filter. It turns out this filter is not "just as good" as the OEM. Check out the stats on what particles make it through the filter and the percentages. It's not night and day, but getting a filter from 99.9 to 99.99 costs money! That's why this filter is cheaper, it just doesn't filter as well. So, based on that I will never buy anything but OEM filters after this.HOWEVER: For those on a budget using this filter is much better than simply not using the fridge to filter water. That's the main reason I gave it 3 stars. It works and it's better than my tap water.**That got me thinking. I'm going to bring home my brita and use it on my water and do a side by side comparison of water and tea.Update 1/17/2013 - I just installed the second filter in this 3-pack with more of the same results from the first time through. One thing I didn't remember is that the water coming out of the filter is still "extra" aerated even a full week after daily use. Between the fiancee and I we easily draw 2L a day through the filter, so it's not like this is the second cup of water. I haven't done the brita test yet, but the filter is now at home so a side by side teat test will happen this weekend.Update 2/19/2013 - I actually did try the Brita filter test the weekend after I updated this review. There was a HUGE difference in the clarity of the tea. I have not gone back to using this water for tea since that time. The bottom line: you get what you pay for. If you can afford the OEM filters then buy them.

Good price, good product
I purchased these as a replacement for the filter that came with the Samsung fridge we bought in early 2011. I was reluctant to purchase an after-market product for something that I really depend on but decided to give it a go. It was a good decision. I have used the product for over a year and a half and have no complaints about the clarity or taste of the water or ice. It does what it states. The only odd thing about this filter replacement is that I have an annoying drip from the cold water dispenser that only disappears after a large volume of water has been run through the system. I don't recall if this occurred when I installed the original Samsung filter but after installation I have to run about 3 gallons of water before it stops dripping. Since this is only an installation issue it doesn't bother me much.Overall a very good product at a very good price. I'm buying another set now.Feb 2017 update. My experience remains good as I have used these filters for five years now. I still run a large volume of water through the filter after installation to eliminate air pockets and dripping from the dispenser. I have noticed a degradation in the water flow rate with the filters purchased in 2015. The documentation states .5gpm but I am closer to half that rate.

One of the 3-pack of WSS-1 filters is defective.
The WaterSentinel WSS-1 filter has been my favorite for my Samsung refrigerator since it was new in 2014. I've never had trouble with a WSS-1 filter until now. One of the three "white box" WSS-1s I received from this Amazon vendor is defective. It leaks terribly when properly installed. (The first filter in the 3-pack was fine, the third is unknown.)I'd appreciate a replacement sent to me. Please advise what to do with the defective one.

They work but beware you may need to trim them a bit to make them fit into your filter holder base.
This is my second pack of 3 that I bought for my Samsung refrigerator. These do not fit without some modification. As with the previous pack of these that I bought, I have to shave a bit off of the plastic tabs before these will fit in my filter holder. With each new filter that I open I have high expectations that it will fit without modifications. Unfortunately not the case. With a razor knife I need to trim just a small bit off of the corners of the locking tabs on these filters before they will screw into the filter base. I never had this problem when using genuine Samsung filters, but the lower cost of these filters makes them much more economical to use. Once installed they do not leak and they last just as long as the more expensive brands. I have just come to expect that I need to do this little modification each time I install a new filter. This problem may be unique to my filter base and you may have no problem at all when installing into yours. But in case you do, just trim a small bit of the plastic off of the locking tabs on the filter with a razor knife and they will twist right in. Start by trimming just a tiny amount from the sharp corners of the tabs. If they still don't fit, keep trimming just a bit more until they do.

Exactly as advertised - Great replacement filter for Samsung Fridge
Liked how quick the product came from Amazon. Definitely more cost effective to do a multi-pack. The filter did seem to not have good water flow at first, but after a day of use, it seemed to be flowing fine. No foul taste in the water either

Best choice!
Perfect choice from Amazon.ca. Better price than appliancezone.com that I used in the last 7 years.

Flow rate through these filters seems to be about a ...
Flow rate through these filters seems to be about a 1/3 less than the OEM elements... Other than that; they fit and work.
