Chicology Cordless Magnetic Roman Shades / Window Blind Fabric Curtain Drape, Light Filtering, Privacy - Daily Grey, 39"W X 64"H

First, let me start by saying that am in no way benefiting from this review.. it’s just my honest opinion of a great product I stumbled upon during hours of searching for quality roman shades that were reasonably priced.I recently ordered 3 of these shades but I have a total of 13 chicology magnetic Roman shades in our home and I can’t say enough great things about them! I will say that I prefer them to be inside mount since the top is bare wood and could potentially be noticeable if you hang them on a window that can be seen from above (for instance, if you have 2 story ceilings and can see the top of the shade from upstairs). But the one I have in our kitchen is an outside mount and looks great since you can’t see the top at all. I have hung all 13 shades by myself and it was very simple! These particular shades provide some privacy and minimally filter light, but I knew that based on their description and that’s what I wanted for the room they’re in. If you’re looking for a shade that blocks light and provides complete privacy, I highly recommend the chicology thermal Roman magnetic shades, which I have on 10 other windows in our home! If you’re on the fence about purchasing these, DO IT! You won’t be disappointed!

These blinds are pretty chintzy and probably won't hold up over time, but they are miles more useful and better looking than my 10 year old mini blinds that are falling apart.These didn't fit my windows well, and I was looking for some solution to leave a top portion of my window uncovered. I didn't end up using the mounting hardware at all. I used Command Velcro strips to attach it directly to the lower pane of my window. It works great and it looks like less gap since the frame on the lower pane is a bit smaller anyway.Pros:- very simple styling and clean design, they blend in well- simple construction, no moving parts to break, lightweight- no strings! The magnets are a great feature- the fabric lets a good amount of diffuse light through while providing privacyCons:- no way to clean the fabric besides spot cleaning. I'm not confident these will look clean for long.- if your windows are an in between size, there will be large gaps on either side and the brackets may not even reach.- they are intended to be folded up from the bottom, so the fabric layers unevenly.

We needed an inexpensive shade for our rental house that would allow privacy, but I wanted something with a minimal profile. I'm pleased with this purchase. The installation is easy, only a screwdriver is required to place brackets after which the curtain is held in with the included bolts--done in minutes. I like the diffuse light that comes through the fabric in the afternoon, the material still lets in a fair amount of sunshine. The magnets in the shade are a nice idea --- no dangling cord to raise or lower the blind- however I wonder how long they will last, they don't seem strong. There is also no way to alter the length of the blind, it can bunch at the bottom when fully extended. Overall, for a small investment, I'm glad to have this easy option to quickly get a way manage privacy/control light in our window.

Glad I went with this affordable Roman blind. I only wish they had larger sizes for my 70” windows! I’d scoop up two more. I’m contemplating buying two 35” instead for each window. I’ve had mine for a week or so and they function as promised. One review stated that staples were exposed.... Not true. They installed the top upside down. This error exposes underlying staples. Just needs flipped around. So if that review was discouraging you disregard it. I think you’ll like the shade if you like the description and it’s magnetic feature you likely will be pleased with the clean relaxed look and cord-free ease of use. Installing it will be a breeze. Although there is room for margins of error just measure correctly before buying to avoid any unnecessary frustration. This applies to ALL blinds. That being said. The install really couldn’t be any easier in my opinion.

Disappointed with the quality of this shade. Wanted it for my son's bedroom to replace curtains and its very thin fabric so the sunlight comes right through. Mis-advertised as light filtering, Privacy in my opinion. I mean when down you cant see through it so I guess that's the privacy part. The magnetic bars that hold the shade up are not really that strong so you have to carefully put a section up at a time and hope it doesn't fall till you get the rest up. Love the magnetic idea but just does not seem strong enough to hold all the fabric shade up as you want it too. We are using it but will most likely replace with something a little more room darkening and stronger hold. This would be great for a room where you are not worried about light and not really messing with the shade where you can pull it up and just let it go. A real pain to use everyday and keep it up.

For the price I wasn't necessarily expecting the best shades in the world. I was a bit concerned by what others said about the see-through quality. However, I have found these to be great shades. Install was easy. The magnets work great. They are opaque but not see-through. Even at night while you can see that a light is on or the tv is on you cannot see detail--they are just light "orbs". My husband stood on one side of the French doors and I stood on the other and while we could vaguely tell there was a shadow of someone on one side we could not see any detail. I actually like that they still let some light in and you can still see a vague shape on the other side. Overall, I'm really pleased and recommend!
