AllbirdsWomen’s Superlight Wool Runners Casual Sneakers

I was a little disappointed in the fabric. I love my other all birds shoes but not sure these will hold up very long.

The shoes are not as comfortable as expected, There is not enough cushion in the shoe.

So lightweight & they look great on. Very comfortable & the fabric & color is perfect. Love them!

Update 12/2024 These wore well last summer. I feel like they actually stretched out a little bit. I also want to say that I found Magic Erasers work very well to keep the edges and soles clean, plus the Erasers are available world-wide. The shoes were comfortable for long walking on irregular surfaces. They washed up very well. That is important to me as I want my shoes to look CLEAN.I've bought Allbirds before so I knew these super light shoes would be cool enough for summer. They are also very lightweight for packing.I was worried about sizing because I had to size up on their tree runners and ballet flats several years ago. But I didn't want to go up a whole size and slosh around in these. My regular size 7 works in these super light runners. As the title suggests, these are casual shoes. I don't think I would run in these, but they are comfortable for walking.If you have a high instep, like I do, you can loosen the laces enough to be comfortable without being left with nubs to tie. I am considering making my own non-tying elastic laces.I love how these look, but I am slightly worried about keeping them clean. My previous Allbirds washed up well, but they were black. I have two pairs of shoes to alternate in France for the month of June. I'll post "after photos" in July.Although not a suggestion by Allbirds, I found spraying a little WD-40 on a paper towel and carefully wiping the bottoms, magically kept the white edges white. It did not affect the wool uppers but I was exceptionally careful not to get any on the wool.I really like the heel tab. I almost always use a shoe horn, but in a pinch, these pull on fine. The tab also seems to stabilize my foot a bit. My very low cut footies fit well in these and stay in place.These Allbirds are light and attractive enough to wear with sundresses and shorts. That is the style in France at the moment, which makes me happy since these provide far more support than sandals, yet don't look clunky like most comfy walking shoes.For my foot, these are very comfortable. I think they are supportive enough for a full day of walking, even on hilly streets. I'll post if I have other thoughts later.It makes me feel good to buy from companies like Allbirds who have a stated policy on environmental issues. Yes, I recommend these super light runners!

I'd been looking at the Allbird brand for a while. I'm a huge fan of merino wool, so was intrigued with the idea of its use in a sneaker. I couldn't have been happier when I got the chance to try these Superlight Runners and they don't disappoint. They are indeed super light. The sole is very cushiony and comfortable. It doesn't have a lot of heavier rubber on the sole, so I wouldn't recommend these for much off-road wear. The upper is very breathable and unlined, making wear without socks comfortable. For those worried about wool being hot, don't be. The natural fabric breathes much better and stays cooler than any of the synthetic fabrics used in my other sneakers. I've been wearing them quite a bit in the Texas summer heat, quite comfortably. I've also been impressed with the weave of the upper fabric. I live in the country and feared they would pick up every form of grass seed, sticker, etc. around. What vegetation that has stuck to them, easily brushes off. Again, much better than other fabric sneakers I have. I hope they come out with more colors, because I'd sure buy them.

When I first got these shoes, I was not super impressed. I let them sit for almost a month before I tried them on. Now I see why people love them. They have support that you would not expect. I can loosen the ties for my high instep to make them fit better. I love the wide tongue that helps to keep them in place. The tab in the back is convenient. They are so lightweight I can't believe it! The wool makes them cool in summer. The only problems I have with them is the price and how clean I can keep them. They will be shoes to wear out with dresses or skirts for me. I won't wear them in the yard for fear of getting dirty. The cost will prevent me from buying them frequently because I am retired and have so many shoes I will probably never wear them out. If the cost is not a concern, these are the shoes to try.

I have seen this brand advertised online so I was excited to finally give these shoes a try.Overall, I’m very satisfied with the comfort of these sneakers! I walk several miles each day at work and these have been terrific. Excellent comfort and easy to break-in. I was especially pleased with the small mechanism on the back of the shoe that helps to keep your socks on/in place. The width of the shoes was good as well, and my toes have never felt squished/pinched. Compared to other “walking shoes” I own, they are more comfortable than both my Brooks and Adidas UltraBoost shoes.The only downsides are:1) Shoes are not easy to slip on and off. You definitely have to take the time to untie/tie them.2) The cut of the shoe shows socks very easily. I have to make sure I wear black socks with the shoes otherwise it looks a bit funny.3) The white sole does get dirty fairly easily. Even after just a couple days I noticed several scuff marks (however, most were easy to remove with a little soap and water)4) Great for walking but I wouldn’t run in these. Not enough support in my opinion.Overall, if you are looking to try out a new walking shoe then I would highly recommend giving these a try!
