NOT A SPOILER REVIEW (unlike some!)This book is shocking, captivating, heart rendering, unbelievable & sickening-you may think those are weird combinations of emotions to then rate 5 stars, however, its just one of those books that is so shocking that you've got to read on, for hours I forced myself to read on even though I was sometimes disgusted, sometimes falling asleep, and sometimes needed to get stuff done. Hours passed by and because I was so engrossed I didn't even realize! I only read non-fiction books & half way through my brain kept on reminding me that this is all true, this really did happen-some bits are so just unbelievable! This book really touched me and had me in many tears and made my heart race a few times. I now have all of Toreys books, however as of yet I have only read Beautiful child, Twilight children and Ghost Girl and highly recommend all of them! This one captivated me the most though!!I really enjoy reading Torey Haydens books but Ive only got a few more and then I will have read them all.If you are looking for similar authors/these sort of books I would recommend Dave Pezler (just ordered his books) & Cathy Glass!If you have any other recommendations please let me know by commenting on this review!

This is a very well written and gripping book. I couldn't put it down and read it at every available moment. But a word of warning, it's sometimes a nasty world out there and even in my 53 years on this planet I have just read of things that some may disturbing. I suppose you cannot write of troubled minds without knowing of such things, I'm no lightweight and not easily upset but this storey can't fail but get to you.

I ordered this as a Christmas present for a friend and was slightly disappointed in the quality which is why I've only given 4 stars. It looks like some of the pages at the bottom of the book haven't been cut squarely. The book came shrink wrapped and I've left it like that. The story itself is very thought provoking and quite distressing in parts, especially when you know it is true.

Tori Hayden gives an educational insight into children who have extreme special needs. This book is truly brilliant for anyone who works with children.Tori’s in depth understanding, especially of children who are elective mutes, is heart warming and helpful.

Starting this book tonight, good read as all Torey's books are.

I'm not the entire way through the book yet, but I find myself getting more and more angry and frustrated. That poor little girl found the courage to tell someone she trusted about the horrors she and her sisters were going through, even though she found it so hard to talk, and although I understand Torey needed more facts, she doubted everything Jadie told her. Her own opinions and reservations meant those girls' suffering was probably prolonged.I find it shocking that two professionals were aware of what Jadie was saying, yet sat around for months on end, partly because they wouldn't accept that such horrific things really do happen! I found it especially worrying that Arkie still tried to say Jadie was making it all up because she was mentally disturbed, even after learning all three girls had been medically examined and even the 15 month old baby showed signs.I feel they could have done more.Shocking and disturbing things DO happen, and it was wrong of them to dub a child a liar.

A really good account of this little girls struggles and toreys part in getting her the help she so desperately needed. It's a tragedy that the perpetrators were never brought to justice. I found the book really gripped my imagination and felt a part of the story. I am so pleased jadie has found a happy life for herself.

I have read several of Torey s books and always enjoy reading how she manages to help turn their lives around, she had a tough time with some of her pupils but love, patience and her methods of teaching help better their lives.

Simply the most pathetic book with disgusting details about child sex abuse.

What an amazing accomplishment for Torey. Her endless patience and sensitivity resulted in these 3 girls being saved from a continued life of hell. A good lesson in trusting your gut feel and standing up against the flow when it really counts.

Another great book from Torey Hayden! Couldn't put it down but very sad at the same time. Read nearly all her books

great reading would highly recommend. We all get tied up in our own lives and don't think about what goes on behind closed doors.i
