I needed to connect 2 buildings with ethernet cable, but had concerns about running standard CAT6 outside and exposing it to both tension and UV. I have obviously seen aerial cables run for cable TV and thought a similar product would be great for ethernet. I decided to order this product, received it quickly, and installed it. Seems to work great. Exactly what I was looking for and appears to be of high quality. The only thing I have not fully tested is the speed since installing it because it is also running to a new, inexpensive router. Soon I will test a direct run without the new, inexpensive router and just use my existing router that I know the speeds of. I will update once tested. So far so good though. I am very happy with the product and would buy again.

I have somehow gone through my IT career (20+ years) not ever running aerial wire. I knew it existed but never thought I would actually use some. I had a location where it was the best option to run (due to some of the trees in the area) and this was the wire I chose.The wire is aluminum (not even clad) in every way (I normally use solid copper). That makes the wire lighter and a little less able to go the distance. But if you have a short run then it should work fine (I had about 250ft that I ran and 50 feet aerial). The wire was very thin compared to the solid copper I normally use.I was able to get gigabit speeds and it did work for my use case. Just not the quality wire that I am used to. I probably will go with something different if I am out to buy something in the next 20 years.

I bought this exterior grade CAT6 cable with messenger wire to run a line to a utility pole near my house for a security camera. The steel messenger wire is excellent quality - almost zero stretch and seemingly rust-proof. The polyethylene coating is tough and weather-resistant. Installation was simple, and once inside the house, I crimped on an RJ45 connector so that I could switch to regular CAT6 cable for the run to my security DVR. Still have most of the spool left over, but for the price, this was an excellent deal.

Well read this wire was pretty right and one customer said wire not copper plated. Well the outer jacketis pretty thin for directly burying but should be ok for me as I little rock in the ground. And yes I knowthis is aerial wire but it is not unusual to use aerial wire in ground and the messenger wire is nice to haveeven inground. I usually earth ground it. I cannot speak of every shipment but my roll has the copper overaluminum as advertised. The messenger wire appears to be bare aluminum which is fine. Over all not tobad for the price.

Save on cable runs if you have to trench. The ability to connect two buildings with networks within hours did the trick for us

I was pleasantly surprised to find this on Amazon as it is such a niche product at a very good price. I was thinking I was going to have to buy a 1k box from Graybar. I would have given a 4.5 if I could, only because the spine between the cable and message wire needed to be thicker. Other than that I was fine with it.

Not good, very soft jacket around wires, wore if very soft and breaks very easy. Not good wire at all. Could not get a connection only about 45 feet away. Ran 2 lines same results no data.
