There are 640 muscles in the human body and Rugged 30 is designed to fit, flex and wear like the 641st. Workout-ready with a digital stopwatch, timers and alarms, it’s tough enough for ten more “reps” and the rest of your day. Timex Group B.V. is one of the best-known American watch companies. Timex's U.S. headquarters are located in Middlebury Connecticut and it has substantial operations in China, the Philippines and India and full scale sales companies in Canada, the UK, France and Mexico. The company began in 1854 as Waterbury Clock in Connecticut's Naugatuck Valley, known during the nineteenth century as the "Switzerland of America." Sister company Waterbury Watch manufactured the first inexpensive mechanical pocket watch in 1880. During World War I, Waterbury began making wristwatches, which had only just become popular, and in 1933 it made history by creating the first Mickey Mouse clock under license from Walt Disney, with Mickey's hands pointing the time.During World War II, Waterbury renamed itself U.S. Time Company. In 1950 the company introduced a wristwatch called the Timex. Over the next three decades, Timex was sold through a series of advertisements which emphasized its durability by putting the watch through "torture tests," such as falling over the Grand Coulee Dam or being strapped to the propeller of an outboard motor, with the slogan "It takes a licking and keeps on ticking." With the help of former Olympic broadcaster, spokesman John Cameron Swayze, sales took off. The company later became Timex Corporation, then Timex Group and, to date, has sold over one billion watches. The company has remained very competitive and the Timex brand continues its dominance through present day. Its primary market remains the United States and Canada, although the Timex brand is sold worldwide due to its ability to capitalize on its strong brand image and reputation for quality. One of the most successful and important features available on many Timex watches is the Indiglo backlight system. Indiglo is a brand name of Indiglo Corporation, solely owned by Timex for licensing purposes. Timex electroluminescent lamps, branded Indiglo, were introduced in 1992 in the Ironman watch line. They were an immediate success. The Indiglo lamp uniformly lights the surface of the Timex’s watch dials in a manner that makes the dial read very easily in many different light settings. In some newer watches the Indiglo backlight only lights up the numbers, rather than the entire LCD display, which is achieved by means of a specialized film that inverts the LCD transmissivity.Today, Timex Group products are manufactured in the Far East and in Switzerland often based on technology that continues to be developed in the United States and in Germany. With a large and varied line of watches, Timex has the style for everyone. From the locker room to the board room, there is a great Timex style time-piece for you. Nice mid-size Ironman for a woman, boy or small wristed guy
This watch measures 40 mm across the case, a litter bigger if you include the buttons. It has a slightly raised bezel, which offers some scratch protection, but for its size it's rather thick. The numbers on the face are not as big as on a full size Ironman. It has three alarms, and the usual chrono and timer. One interesting feature I have not seen on other Timex's is the Occasion mode, where you can put dates, etc. for reminders. The Indiglo lights up the entire watch face, not just the numbers. I'm a small guy, so it works for me. I also have other full size Timex's, which are slightly larger but not huge on me. Know that the lug width is only about 14mm, so when the band breaks (it eventually will) you'll need a narrow replacement band. There are options. Finally, if you need instructions for setting the time, etc., look up the Timex W-209 online.

I use it to track my swimming, and I don't want to buy a smart phone
I have been using this Timex watch for years.Pros:1.easy to set up, I play with it for minutes and figure out how to set it up2. can shut off bells and whistles like alarms, calendar.... if you do not need them. I only keep time and chrono(for my work out)3. I mostly use the Chrono for my swimming laps. It shows per lap and per total workout time information. Push a button will turn the light on in the dark. Also this feature is also very good for keeping track of your time when doing other tasks.4. Big buttons a plus, mid size(not too small for workout and not too big for female)Cons: the light might stop working after a while, this is like a chance problem. I have several Timex watches. Some of them do not have this issue, some have. So I have to buy a new one after months with the watch price relatively affordable.I would recommend to a friend who needs simplicity, not wanting fancier smart watch feature.

Cool watch for tween.
Bought this hot pink and black watch for a 11 year old who picked it out herself. She lovvvvves it!It has a ton of features..alarms, reminders, stopwatch, other than the usual..time, day and date. It also has indigo..night light when u push a buttonAlarm is not too loud nut works well to wake her up.The face is very clear and easily visibleIt looks more 'plastic' than in the picture. I think it mKes for a good kids, tweens, teens watch or a good everyday watch for adults but it doesn't look too grown up .

Comfortable and durable.
Extremely durable. Survives wakeboard, dirt bike, skiing, and snowboard crashes. Bought this one to replace my last one...that I had for around 10 years...because they can take anything but Off (bug spray), and even that only diminished the face a little. Size and fit are perfect. Buttons are easy to find, even in the dark. Backlight is just right; a gentle glow that lights up the entire face, not the whole room. Very easy to operate. Looks good too; a little badass with some feminine tossed in. Perfect for the active “little badass” in us all.

Not a Nickel Free Watch
I would love to give this watch more stars! It has all of your usual functions: 12/24 clock format, split/lap times, alarm, date, etc. It does well with water (it didnt fog up when I washed loads of dishes at Starbucks). The only thing I don't like about this watch is that the backing (the part that sits on your wrist) is nickel plated. I've since developed a rash and sensitivity to my watch. I can avoid this by putting on a band-aid , creating a barrier.. but that's no fun.If I can find another cost effective watch that is nickel free, i'm sold.

... all the Times (and other brands) this is my favorite! I don't need a lot of "bells and ...
Of all the Timex (and other brands) this is my favorite! I don't need a lot of "bells and whistles" and I don't want to spend a lot of money on a watch that I won't use most of the features. This watch has just enough for me to use during my personal workouts and when I train and teach group fitness. I love the countdown timer (usually have to spend more money to get this feature) - it's easy to set and easy to reset. Numbers are big and clear...and the classic black doesn't stand out as much as the more colorful bands, which I like except when I put it down and can't find it again...LOL. I'm just happy I found this watch on Amazon and for the price...amazing!

Great watch
I got this as an upgrade from an older Timex, and I just love it! I went for this model because I needed lap timing, but this watch also has many other functions besides that and your regular chronometer and alarm. You can schedule events and other alerts, a timer, different timezones... It's great! I also love the colors, the size of the numbers on the screen and pretty much everything about it. I've been complimented on it very much since I started wearing it.
