This bookstand is quite sturdy. It is rather heavy, which is a good thing because it will be difficult to knock over accidentally. This will be a helpful tool in the kitchen, as I am always searching for my recipe on the counter, and constantly splashing ingredients on recipes. This stand will keep the recipe right where I can find it and see it easily, and where it will remain clean. It is sturdy enough to hold a tablet or even a laptop without worrying about it falling over. I am giving this product four stars for two reasons: first, there is a little nick in the center of the wood surface. It's small, but it is definitely noticeable. Secondly, while it is nice that the stand remains firmly as positioned, it is quite difficult to adjust. It takes some muscle to raise and lower, and to adjust the angle of the wooden book holder. On the other hand, rotating the book holder from side to side is quite easy, which is a plus. It makes a little clicking noise when rotated. I'm happy to have this bookstand on my kitchen counter and look forward to using it.

This is really nice. I wasn't expecting the hardwood, so that was a nice touch. Between the hardwood and the steel base, it's heavier than I thought it would be. It comes with a tool to tighten it as well, should any of the movements loosen with time (which I anticipate they could). I've used this with a variety of different kinds of media (from a 1" ring binder to a 1,000+ page textbook). The clips are unobtrusive and don't damage the media being held. From the way the base is desiged, the stand is highly stable on the desk and I have not had an issue with even the textbook sliding off of it. Long story short, this is an outstanding product.

absolute necessity....you don't know you needed this until you have it! Perfect for books, recipes, laptop, coloring/drawing and more. It's completely adjustable, height, angle, rotation and the page arms. Holds whatever you have firmly in place so it's not falling or going anywhere.

This stand is well-made and sits firmly on your counter. I can swivel it without the base moving. There are four protector pads on the bottom to protect your counter and keep the stand from moving. The stand comes with an Allen wrench if you need to tighten the screws. You can adjust the height and do a 360-degree swivel. The only issue would be if you do not have space on your counter to keep the stand accessible at all times. If you have to store it, you might not use it. If anything is not easily accessible in your kitchen, it does not get used often.
