I did not even know that this sort of carrier existed before ordering this product. What a back saver! The construction looks to be very secure, which is comforting, since I must trust this product before letting it be used. The carrying strap is very wide, making it agreeable for the person wearing it. There is a Velcro closure for the belt part and the Velcro strip is long enough to accommodate many sizes. I would say that this carrier belt strap would fit up to a 45" waist. After the Velcro is fastened, there is also a buckle to secure as well. The buckle has a second locking feature which must be undone before the buckle will open. All this makes for a very secure feeling belt.Since grandchild was not around, I gave the dog a test drive in this. The dog weighs 35lb and the carrier seat held him soundly with no issues. I really love how many options this carrier has for positioning the child (or dog), it's much easier than other carriers where you are stuck with the weight in one place. There are also several choices for stowing extra items on this carrier. On the front is a larger compartment, one side has a zippered pouch where a cellphone could fit, and the other side has a mesh pocket for water bottles.The seat itself is slightly tilted inward toward the wearer and nicely cushioned, to insure baby's comfort and safety. Covered in a thick, sturdy feeling fabric, I cannot imagine that this carrier is going to wear out anytime soon. Really, it's appears to be so well made, I would not discount it lasting through several babies. Taking all these features into consideration, I would say that it's a very good value and I strongly recommend it.

Extremely well made and supports your sitting baby/toddler very well. It was easy to use. I loved the storage compartments and how well the straps adjusted and securely fastenend. I have a more expensive version of this product that came with less features and was not as comfortable. This is a great buy!

I own the name brand/original hip carrier (the one that started it all) and have to say this product is very similar as far as features and quality are concerned. Similar pockets, smooth zippers, grip material on the seat. I like that the water bottle holder on this one is insulated unlike the one on the name brand which is all mesh. You could keep a baby bottle inside if needed. The buckle is substantial and secure as it requires a push of a button prior to squeezing the sides of the buckle to unlatch the strap. Make sure to install the carrier up high above your hip and as tight as you can comfortably make it, to avoid the carrier from sagging from the weight of the child. This is the same advice the big company will give you as theirs will sag too if not strapped up high or tight enough. I like these carriers as they are quick to put on when running errands. And if your baby is anything like mine, they don’t like to be confined after a certain age and enjoy the extra freedom. For hiking or long walks, I’d recommend a full body carrier for a more comfortable fit, and to be truly hands free.

I have a 9 month old who sometimes just want me to carry him, but sometimes when running chores around the house is not possible. I do have a proper baby carrier too in which I do front carry him but the process of securing him in the carrier takes time, so I usually pick him up and carry around in the house. But this was making my arm and back/hip hurt a lot and I needed support. I had seen this type of baby carrier but wanted to see if it works. It does work to take the load off your arm- but you still need to support your child's back with one hand. I like the fact that this is versatile in sense- can do side carry or front carry with this one. It is easy to wear and had a buckle which has secure lock too so the safety is well thought.

My daughter was 20 pounds by 6 months. This hip seat is an absolute LIFE SAVER! I love that it helps me free my hand and also has so many pockets to put phone, keys, cards and even a bottle!

I really like this hip carrier, because it makes it more comfortable to pick the kids up, for long periods of time. My kids have been walking for years, so we don’t really need strollers most of the time, but they do get tired, and sometimes my 3yo needs to be held, for safety. This doesn’t take up too much space, and it functions like a “fanny pack” when you don’t have a kiddo in your arms. I will note that the labels are pretty silly, but that doesn’t bother me, and it doesn’t affect the functions. Ultimately, I’m still holding my kids, when I use it. It just takes stress off of my arms, when holding for a long time. I’m not putting all of my faith in it, without contributing. I have wanted a similar carrier, for a while. Many of them are pretty pricey, so I was happy to have the opportunity to test this one. I’m pleased with it.

This is a life changer! Seriously. 6 kids and I've been wanting one of these forever! They are such a life changer. I have used so many baby carriers before but nothing that is as comfortable and nice as one of these. This includes so many pockets for all of your things as well as super easy to put on. Where the baby sits is padded and has grippers to help not fall. It adjusts to a super small size all the way up to larger. It's so much more comfortable on your back and hips than traditional baby carriers! This is a great gift idea for any mom or dad or to use with your toddlers who love being picked up constantly.
