We're big water sports enthusiasts, so are always dealing with mosquitos, gnats and flies while out on the water or camping. This product really works on both us and our dogs, and we LOVE that it is non-toxic. We apply every hour or so, and the bugs find other victims. After trying dozens of all-natural products that don't work, it's wonderful to have found this stuff!

We moved to north Texas last year and I've been a bug magnet ever since. After living in dryer, awesomer, mountain-y or beach-y, beautiful places... frankly, we have been thinking moving here may have been just a very huge mistake. And that may well be true but that's not the point of this review. Even if the sun, humidity & political climate don't make you want to leave immediately, as an outdoor animal myself, no matter the season I'm constantly being eaten by every bug imaginable. It really makes it hard to enjoy anything about this place, that's for sure.So, today was the first day I tried Buzz Away Extreme and honestly I'm blown away. Shocked. Completely shocked. I spent about 2.5 hours shoveling & hauling mulch across my property. I heard a couple of buzzes in my ear.. but I didn't receive even a single bite. None. Not by anything. At all. All I can say is that I'm completely blown away & will forever use this product!NOTE: I didn't purchase this product because it was DEET-free, rather because it's cruelty-free & so are we. No animals were used or tortured in the making of this amazing product. So enjoy!

This bug spray smells nice, and I like that it is does not have deet in it. There is only one thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is that you have to re-apply it more often than the deet spray, but it does keep the bugs from biting. You'll KNOW when you have to re-apply.

I think they may have reformulated this recently. I really like this - it smells pretty good, stays on for a few hours, and keeps away mosquitoes. And being all natural is the most important to me.

This beats the pants off of chemical sprays. I will NEVER go back. Mosquitos LOVE me, and I haven't had a single bite since I started using this product. They have a customer and rave reviewer for life.

Last summer we spent a fair amount of time outside. We were visiting a small lake in Northern Wyoming and there were a ton of deer and horseflies. They were biting like crazy! I used this on my baby and myself and neither of us suffered any bug bites. We also used this occasionally closer to home both in the mountains and close to our home and still, no bug bites (we mostly have mosquitos here). Awesome! I did not mind the smell of this spray, it wasn't great, but not terrible either. I thought it smelled way, way better than products like OFF that contain more dangerous chemicals for little ones. Overall, I'm very happy with this product. I don't think I'll ever go back to the DEET containing products.Update: The second summer using this and I am still happy with the product. It works well at keeping the mosquitos away. Remember to reapply often if you are in an area with a lot of biting insects. It seemed to work for about 1-2 hours before the bugs started bugging us again. Also, be aware that the first ingredient is castor bean oil which is highly toxic. If using on young ones, make sure not to spray it in their face by eyes or mouth, or on their hands which will likely go into their mouths.

I was trying to avoid harsh chemicals and this product had great reviews so I decided to try it but two bottles later and I have to admit it leaves a lingering smell that reminds me of baby throwup. I thought it was just a rancid bottle that I had but when I got my second bottle, and the perfume smell dissipated, the underlying throwup smell was still there and pretty nauseating. It is a non-returnable item, but Amazon was able to come up with a solution to provide me with some credit, so for that, I am grateful and will probably be sticking to Cutters Natural bug spray instead. That one has a vanilla extract scent that is tolerable.

I've used this product for years almost on a daily basis, but I've found that the contents in recent bottles seems to be more diluted and thus less effective. For the price, it is no longer worth it.
