Excellent quality. Stable and solid. Great value.
This is a very solid and stable bike carrier. Not just "good for the price," as some of the reviews say, but just plain good. The steel used in the construction is high quality, and very thick and heavy. It is not flimsy thinwall tubing or "chinesium." All of the welds are clean and well formed. The fit and finish is excellent. The engineering is excellent, and all of the connections fit solidly and snugly. Every part of the carrier shows thought and planning.Contrary to what some of the other reviews say, there is no wiggle or wobble at all. Everything is solid, and there is no need for extra washers, shims, bolts, welds, or other modifications some of the other reviewers advise. Just tighten down the pivot bolts sufficiently to remove all play, but not so tight as to restrict pivoting. The included threaded receiver hitch pin prevents all side to side motion, and the U-bolt prevents all up and down motion. These two also work together to make theft much more difficult and less likely. All you will need to assemble the carrier is a 6mm allen wrench and a 17mm socket, box, or open end wrench, or even an adjustable wrench. You will need a 19mm wrench for the U bolt, and a 15/16" for the hitch pin, or again, an adjustable wrench if that is all you have. If you only have SAE tools (inch), you could probably get away with a 3/16 or 7/32 allen wrench, and 11/16 and 13/16 sockets. Assembly took about 15 or 20 minutes, and the instructions were pretty clear.Just finished a 100 mile trip with bikes on the rack. The bikes would have stayed secure with just the top hook, as there is no way for them to move or go anywhere, but we used the included velcro tie downs and the strap anyway. Belt, and suspenders. Neither the bikes nor the carrier moved at all, and anyone familiar with Michigan's wonderful roads knows that they are far from smooth and are horribly maintained. Again, very well engineered carrier, very solid construction, and very good build quality. I would buy this again even at double the price. Factoring the low price into the equation makes this a no-brainer. Very impressed.

Best fit for Toyota Sienna van
Tried out 2 other bike racks to go into new 2" hitch on van, only this one with the 90 degree turn up elevated the racks and mounted bikes to a good height above the already low ground clearance of the van and the hitch. Took less than 30 min to assemble and securely fit into the hitch. All parts function just fine and easy to lash bike wheels in and cinch the upright post onto the frame. Bike and rack didn't rattle or loosen after a couple of short trips. Whole rack is well constructed and not so heavy as more expensive similar styled racks.

Sturdy and secure
I’ve been shopping around for a reasonably priced bike rack for some time.My E bike is a monster that weighs roughly 60 lbs, and with the price tag on it I didn’t want some flimsy rack. My bike is about as big as they come and it fits (though it is at the limit) with plenty of space for a second bike.I felt that the design on this was reasonable for the price point (i got it on sale for $190), you have to assemble it yourself so fair warning. The engineering is adequate, the welds aren’t messy and the metal square pipe isn’t flimsy sheet metal. All the nuts were nylon lock nuts so they didn’t loosen up at all after driving around.Assembly was really easy with the instructions, though I do recommend assembling it on your hitch (the hitch mount acts as a third hand which you will need for a couple parts). The antitheft hitch lock device is simple and effective. It also tightened up the slack in the hitch so it wasn’t bouncing around and making a bunch of noise when driving. (at least on the asphalt). I do recommend not throwing the antitheft device instructional card away just in case. There are 2 cons that are worth noting:1. The wheel and frame holders are all removable, so I feel like I need to take them off so they aren’t stolen when it’s not in use.2. As far as non-use storage goes, it does not fold up so I am unsure how to store this huge thing yet.Overall, would highly recommend for anyone that is looking for a not ultra expensive product that works well enough.

GREAT Rack!
After reviewing dozens of postings for bike racks and their associated reviews, I chose this one. I liked the locking mechanism and the stability feature. The price was far lower than similar racks. I had a 2" hitch installed by U-Haul onto my Subaru Outback for this rack. The rack arrived and was very easy to assemble. It's also pretty heavy so you might need help to move the original boxed product inside of your home. Once assembled, it's easier to move around. I bought this for a Tri road bike but it's built sturdy enough to haul a much heavier bike/bikes. The stabilization feature is AWESOME. The lock works GREAT. The tire straps are well designed and work perfectly. The top bar that lowers onto the bike frame needs to be tight as I had one trip where it worked it's way up after driving on a bumpy road. There's a safety strap provided to assure that if the top bar moves, your bike will still be secure. This is one of the best products that I have purchased from Amazon. I highly recommend it :)

Exceeded expectations/ great value
I'm not sure this bike rake exceeded expectations, but I am extremely satisfied with this rack. Installed on a Dodge Ram. Assembly was straight forward. It is a solid construction and after mounting and taking the bike out to a few local parks, I saw a little wobble on a few turns. But bike remained secure. Can't beat the value.I only have 1 bike, so I only installed a single pair of the tire cradles. It is kinda fun to mount. If there is a CON and not the bike rack's fault. My backup camera and sensor sees the mounted bike a threat and beeps while backing into spaces.lol.Love the security lock and the nylon/soft rubber straps for the tires.I haven't really needed to tilt the rack back on my truck with my bike mounted. But tailgate does rest on the tilt handle when opened. I can live with that, I think.
