Another Excellent Rainpoint Timer
I already own a 2-outlet Rainpoint timer, which is on its second year of daily usage in my garden without any issues. It's been the best non-WiFi garden timer I've ever purchased. The 1-outlet timer is well-built, loaded with features, and relatively easy to program. Programming the timer can be a little confusing at first, especially for complicated programs. It's very quick and easy for simple programs like the one I'm using (i.e., twice-a-day, every day for 30 mins. for my peppers).Another reviewer gave it one-star because it "does not show battery level". But that's not true. A "low battery" indicator appears on the display when the battery gets low and should be replaced. Obviously, if the battery has enough juice to run the timer, something will be showing on the display. The timer comes with an extensive user manual. The manual recommends that the timer be installed vertically but, in my case, the location I needed it was very low to the ground so I had to use it at a 45 degree angle, but it seems to work find in that position. Rainpoint backs the timer with a 5-year warranty (after it's registered) which is very unusual for a timer. I've used several of the best-selling 1- and 2-outlet timers over the years that are more expensive and come with the typical 1-year warranty, and I've never had one of them last more than 2 years, most only about 1-to-1.5 year. One minor annoyance with this timer is that it's very hard to read the display text when programming in direct sunlight.I've only been using this timer for about a week. I've had no problems with it so far and expect it to keep on working. But if something does go wrong, there's that 5-year warranty.

This little timer comes with a big display!
It does take a review of the instructions to figure out how to input the settings correctly, but once you know that, it is a breeze to set up and install. The numbers are easy to read. The clock is either 12 hr or 24 hr and there are 3 different settings if you need to change up your watering pattern. There is also a manual watering setting and a rain delay setting that can come in handy.

Surprising how long the batteries last
It turns ON and OFF with a bang so maybe that’s why it can get by on two AAA batteries. Easy menu to navigate but I still wish I could find a link to the manual I’ve already lost. Great little timer. My only issue isn’t with the timer but with the short 30 day return window Amazon gives us. It works well, but if you happen to get one with a problem you would need to discover that before 30 days elapse and this is one of those things most people don’t use until the summer vacation trip and by then the 30 day return window would have already expired. Rainpoint good; Amazon bad.

Read the instructions
At first, I thought this product didn’t work at all after I had installed it, but then I read the instructions a little bit more carefully and noticed that you have to use the manual watering feature first to test the valve. Make sure you follow the instructions and if you threw them away like me, you can find instructions on YouTube. This is a cheap product that works really well and is easy to figure out once you get the hang of it. This is great for if you’re going on vacation or if you’re worried about a time sprinkler and you have a little bit of a leak and you just want some thing to open up the valve for a short time.

Poor water timer.
Set up was fairly difficult to get right. Failed in several ways. Wouldn’t keep accurate time, then the zones P1-3 would just not start at times or get stuck and not move to the next zone. I tried for a week and then gave up. I tried another timer had a similar experience. After reading so many poor reviews across the board, I believe the problem is the “Digital” aspect. I believe that the materials they’re using are junk. I switched to Analog and found success.

Great for flowerbed or lawn watering
I love this timer so much I have purchased 3 of them. I like how you can easily set it to run for several hours, but my favorite part is that you can manually turn it on for a range of 10 minutes up to 8 hours.

Positive timer functionality review.
This water control timer has been a reliable unit since installed 5 weeks ago. I have it set to allow water flow twice a day every day and it functions as intended. The look and layout is straight forward and easy to use. Would recommend to others.Something to keep in mind though, drain and store in a warm area for winter time. Won't take much water trapped inside to split the plastic valve when it freezes.
