Something I didn't know I needed.....................
but do I really ?So have given this a five star review on the basis of the product - it does what it says on the tin so cannot fault it for that - good size patches which easily cover a FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor. Patches don't appear to impact the operation of the sensor and are comfortable and relatively easy to apply - assume I will get more adept as I get used to applying them !I have had a FreeStyle for about 18 months and have never thought about covering it up with this type of patch. Yes I have had occasions where I have caught my sensor and loosened it so much that I have had to replace early but they are few and far between and I had never considered a patch to protect it from this or showering or sweat. I can see the potential value so will see how this does over the next few days.Couple of things in closing -a) have not seen how the patch works after a shower - if it soaks up the moisture and leaves a damp yet still adhesive patch on my arm this won't be for me andb) it is nice of the vendor to bundle up 20 alcohol wipes free with the patches but the only trouble is they are about as much use as a chocolate teapot !! As can be seen from the photo they are marginally larger than a 20p piece and whilst they are fine as pre-injection wipes - dab the spot you are going to inject - the reality is they are way too small, IMHO, to use to clean a larger area prior to the application of an adhesive patch - off to the medicine box they go, probably to be thrown out once they are past their use by date !!

Not sticky enough but the alcohol wipes are useful
[I received this product for free, in exchange for an honest review, as part of the Amazon Vine programme. That being said, this review is NOT swayed by that, and (as always) contains only my real thoughts on the product; good and bad.]I requested the ‘Ultra Strong Flexible *NEW SHAPE* Freestyle Libre 2 Sensor Covers + FREE Tetra-Sole® Alcohol Skin wipes’ to protect my Freestyle Libre 2 monitor when getting dressed, showering etc. The ‘Ultra strong Freestyle Libre 2 sensor patch…crafted from latex-free breathable cotton fabric and feature a robust wave-patterned adhesive’ looked really promising. The adhesive patches arrived in a sealed, resealable strong plastic pouch. There are 20 patches inside with 20 alcohol skin wipes delivered alongside. The patches have a blue grid backing paper. The backing paper has three parts which makes application to the contour device easier.I tried out a patch overnight, not over my contour, to establish if I had any allergies and to see if the patch would stand up to the shower and general wear. Ideally the patch would stay in place for 2 weeks, until the next expiration of my Libre 2, having literally replaced the device yesterday, as it happens. The patch didn’t make it through the night before it was peeling at the edges, sadly (see photo). I am glad that I tried it on my arm, before trying it over the Libre device, because removing the patch from the device risks pulling it out of my arm. I didn’t test the patch in the shower, it was already a ‘no' in my mind, so I won’t be trying the patches over my Libre. I gave 2 stars for the secure hygienic packaging, the alcohol wipes (which are a welcome addition) and the quantity, which is good value if they work for you?

Two stars
Got these for my husband who wears a Libre 2 sensor. He's used sensor covers before to try and protect the sensor from falling off, but hasn't used any for a while. These are basically triangle shaped elastoplasts. There is a circle in the middle which is supposed to fit over the sensor, whilst the rest of the sticker sticks on the arm and holds the sensor in place. He's used covers before which cover the whole of the sensor and has found he has problems with the sensor not working when the little hole in the middle is completely covered. This does state that these covers are breathable, but I would still be really wary of covering the sensor completely with it. It also comes with some small alcohol wipes, which are useful if not a bit small. Unfortunately my husband won't be using these as he doesn't want his sensor to stop working due to the hole in the centre being covered.

Works with libre 3
I like this patch for the libre 3 because there is no chance of the sticker sticking to it! There is plenty of space wirh coverage which works well for my 8yo. All stickers like this start to peel a bit after a few days but because it doesn't stick to the libre, it's easy to change. Having some cleansing wipes is great too.

Recommended.
The user reports: 'I needed these as I have just become type 1 diabetic and have been given my first libre 2 sensor. The libre 2 is amazing but I was worried that it would not work when I went swimming (which is almost every day). However, this cover has protected it - and so far ( 8 days) it has kept on working. It also stays sticky even after showering multiple times. I have noticed it frays on the outer edges and lifts slightly but this doesn’t seem to affect the effectiveness - as yet.I do like the colour as it is pretty close to my skin colour and also isn’t too obtrusive. In summary, this is an excellent item and I will continue using them'.Which equals 'Recommended'.

Disappointing as they’re quite irritating
I ordered these Freestyle Libre sensor covers for my sister, who is diabetic and needs a reliable way to protect her sensor. Unfortunately, these covers did not meet our expectations. While they initially seemed like a great solution, my sister found them extremely itchy and irritating to her skin. The material used in these covers doesn't seem to be breathable, causing her skin to become red and uncomfortable after just a short period of use. We had to remove them within a few hours because the irritation was so severe.Overall, I cannot recommend these covers. The discomfort and poor adhesive performance make them a poor choice for anyone looking for a reliable and comfortable way to protect their Freestyle Libre sensor. I hope the manufacturer can improve the design and material to address these issues.
