DECOHS Adjustable Ice Chopper, January 2024This chopper is weighty enough to do the work for you. Lift it up, drop it on the ice and the chopper has enough heft to break the ice. This is not meant to be a lightweight tool.Assembly is self-explanatory and the middle section went into the bottom easily. I'm unable to fully screw in the top section to the middle section. It's not cross threaded but there is a coating of some sort on the pipe threads that makes it difficult. Currently, there's a very small amount of play at that joint that shouldn't be a problem and maybe over time, I'll be able to get it more fully seated.Winter finally arrived in the northeast this year so I was able to put the chopper to use. Yesterday's storm brought heavy wet snow. In areas where it got compacted and then froze last night, there was plenty of ice to chop. It worked quickly and easily in those areas.I have not yet tested it on water that has frozen to ice which is generally a harder ice. I'm not expecting any problems but I'll report back if necessary.

This is a really nice ice scraper, very heavy duty and the handle secured very well BUT the head is not nearly as wide as was expecting.Also not sure HOW this is supposedly "shock absorbing" - Pole seems pretty solid but I feel every thing as I scrape so not sure WHERE it's supposedly designed to absorb any shock.

This tool is gonna be AWESOME when the ice comes this winter! It is made of a very solid steel and, because it is adjustable, it an be used in just about any situation where ice needs to be chopped for removal. The poles just screw into each other and you can use all three poles or just two. The head of the chopper is well made and welded to the pole securely. While purchasing a new snow shovel at a local retailer, I saw one that actually has a removable ice chopper, similar to this, but despite that being a viable option, the shovel itself was not the size that I wanted and it didn't make sense to spend a little extra and not get everything I needed in snow removal tools. I am certainly looking forward to using this!

We have a well-insulated garage with an inside temperature that is warmer than outside in the winter. Snow and slush melt off our cars when we get home. The melted snow finds its way under the garage door then freezes solid as it drops to our slanted driveway.I wholeheartedly recommend this tool!!! It has a nice, pointed edge and is heavy enough to breakup ice buildup without much effort on my part. I wish I had bought one years ago. (My husband says it would make a great weapon if someone was to try breaking in.)

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when I ordered this. I was looking for something to help break up ice dams on our walkway during the winter. I was pleasantly surprised by this. At first I was taken back by the fact that it requires assembly and comes in parts that you need to put together- but assembly is easy. This thing has some real weight to it. I can see how it breaks up ice easily. It is good quality and I am looking forward to using it this winter. It arrived quickly and in good condition. This may just be the solution we needed for that winter ice!
