How arrived? In a Ziplock type bag, taped closed. How many rolls?I received three (3) rectangular boxes, with a roll inside each.Comment on boxes. The boxed are narrow and thin, measuring 13.375” long, by 1¼” x 1”.Rolls?To start, these rolls are small and thin. However, the length of each roll, at almost (5’) is about (20%) longer than my last roll, from a competitor. The width is common, at about (13”) wide. Each roll It also weighed-in at a bit over (4) ounces, which is about (10%) lighter than my competitors. So, although longer, I think these are a tad thinner.Store in refrigeratorHelps avoid melting of the beeswax.ValueAt the time of this writing, the cost for each roll is over (50%) cheaper, per foot, than the competitors. So, much more competitive. That’s something I must consider. I will note this, it’s a lot cheaper than the first roll purchased from another competitor, these are (75%) lower, so, prices, over the last couple of years, have fallen considerably.Continued use?Considering prices have fallen by (75%) a foot, over the last couple of years, I think it is worth my continued experimentation and investment. Why have I selected this? For storage, of course, however, I did, in-part, because I wanted to support a small business and I am conscious of a need to reduce my plastic use footprint.Lasts how long? From my experience, conservative, occasional use, and proper care should allow each roll of wrap to have a lifespan of six (6) months to a year. However, in comparison, our glass containers are several years old, and they look just as good as the day I bought them.Is this wrap air-tight?From my experience, I opine no. And I tried, I immersed something I wrapped in cold water and walked away. On unwrapping, there was water intrusion. Now, I understand this is not the best scientific experiment. The sheet I cut is pliable, but it takes a tad to cling themselves together, to aide in our storage efforts, however, I obviously did not perfect an airtight seal. My experience suggests beeswax wraps are more permeable to air, causing oxidation sooner.Lunches.I am trying to get a school age family member to return, after use, however, they do not want to be asked by their classmates why they are not tossing the wrap, and they do not care for its texture and toss it, rather than return it for a wash.Where this shines?Lack of significant negative environmental impact. Also, storage is minimal, as compared to our glass containers and silicone bags, whether inside the fridge or in the storage cupboard/drawer. Plus, the wrap is unbelievably colorful, entertaining to look at, which I like. I also liked these for short-term storage of foods. What I wrapped was compact, did not take-up space, and I were quick to unwrap, but I did so carefully. I am not fan of plastic with our hard cheeses. So, I did wrap a hunk in this. But I then placed that in our glass container. So, this did not eliminate the glass container, but seemed to marry well with our hard cheeses. [Family members insisted on the double wrap, liner inside glass, because they are offended by some of the delicious aromas the hard cheeses give off. Stinky our little ones say or waive their hand when catching their aroma, when open.)WashingForget the dishwasher. Hand wash gently, carefully, in cool water please. (However, that is more time consuming.) Also, I always have concern over the integrity of the wrap, even though I washed in cool water and very mild amounts of soap, as the washes added-up. But they seemed intact.Food grade? Is everything this is made of food grade? Beeswax? Cotton? Jojoba oil?FDA mark? What’s with the use of the FDA mark on the boxes? What is being implied?Never for raw meatLastly, I dared not use these with raw meat. It’s all about the bacteria.Bottom-line.For me, I think this still more of a novelty item; for occasional use. However, the jury is out on whether I would never use the glass, silicone, or plastic wraps I know use. I do see a better return on investment, as prices have fallen, which is good progress. I think these useful, however, considering the above, still not five (5) star material, considering the totality.Country of origin?Made in ChinaI hope you found the above thoughts useful, in any decision.
