This is a fantastic knife block, but it isn't perfect for everyone. Keep these two limitations in mind:1: Vertical space. A traditional block holds knives forwards at an angle. This block holds knives vertically. You must have a counter, where you want to store knives, that ISN'T UNDER A CABINET. The block is over 8 inches tall, meaning it can store 8 inch knives. Add the length of the knife handle, and you need at least 20 inches of vertical space. If the only open counterspace is a place where you wouldn't want a knife block, don't bother buying this product.2: Vertical space again. I would not try to store a knife longer than 8 inches in this block. If you have a knife with a 9 inch blade for some reason, look elsewhere.Bonus limitation for life hack enthusiasts: you can't store butter knives or other eating utensils (like forks and spoons) in this block. The handle of a butter knife is skinny enough to be pushed through the grating at the top.Now, if you don't have any absurdly long knives and you have a counter that isn't under a cabinet, this is the knife block for you! In my experience, all of these benefits are real and useful:1: capacity to counter space ratio: This block holds knives vertically, meaning it can store my entire 11 knife set in a 5 by 5 inch space. It also fits behind other appliances or prep areas without angled knife handles getting in my way.2: ease of use and safety: knives slide in and out of their spaces easily, but are also held firmly. It is difficult to knock the unit over because of a heavy metal plate in the bottom. I have never knocked the unit over in the 4 months (and counting) that I've owned this block, except to test that the knives wouldn't fall out.3: cleaning and sanitation: It feels mean to even compare this design to a wooden knife block. First, the lid of the canister is removable, so you can wash the entire thing. (hand wash only, sadly.) If you spill something on your knife block, you don't have to worry. Second, the knives hang in open air inside the can. You aren't dragging the knife blade against wood every time you pull it out or put it in. You are only scraping the knives against the lid, which again, is removable and hand-washable.4: aesthetic appeal: The only branding is the Delson brand name near the bottom, so if you want an unbranded knife block you can simply make that part face the wall. The plastic body and lid look and feel high quality. The metal scissors holder isn't the best looking, in my opinion, but it is both optional and functional. Do not worry about the opaque sides! It is easy to know which knife is which - I arranged mine from longest to shortest, and have a "clump" of steak knives behind that. You can sort your knives by brand, utility, or anything else. As long as you don't constantly change their locations, finding the correct knife becomes muscle memory.5: durability: I can't speak to the long-term durability of the product. I've had it for four months at the time of writing, and haven't had any issues with it. I'll update this review if something breaks.NOTICE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: Even though this design is better than a traditional knife block, it isn't life changing to the point where you should throw away what already works for you.

It is clean looking and sturdy. Will fit a variety of knives easily. One thing to note that if your knives are very long, they may not fully sit in the canister. Would recommend!

This holds a lot of my large knives. they do go in tight, it's a tight fit but they're all in there and I can actually get some more in there. it's got good storage capacity, looks good on the cabinet, and just bear in mind if putting it under a cabinet, it is tall and if you have taller knives, it may not fit under a cabinet space but it seems sturdy and it's a good product for the price.

I’ve used this product for a couple of days already and since I cook a lot, I feel comfortable reviewing this product soon after purchase.My knives are sacred to me and therefore they deserve a place of honor proudly displayed on my kitchen countertop. The Delson knife holder does a satisfactory job of mixing form with function.I like that the holder has a slightly smaller footprint than my knife block and the white color matches my cabinets. I can easily pull out my knives with one hand without worry that the holder will tip over.My only complaints are that a stainless steel option isn’t available and I would like the holder to be a little bit heavier for that sense of superior build quality. Oh, and no way will this be able to fit an entire knife set with steak knives. Steak knives will have to be stored somewhere else.In sum, if you’re in the market for an affordable knife holder, and if you have a complete knife set with steak knives that you don’t mind storing somewhere else, this unit is a strong contender.

I needed something to hold my knives since we have very little counter space or drawer space in our kitchen. This knife holder easily fit my 12 knife set with room for probably 6+ more. I was able to hand ash it and it was easy to clean and dry. I don't think you'll be disappointed!I did not get paid to do this review or get anything out of it.

We’ve had this for about a year and it still looks good and functions well. We like that it holds a variety of knives and we really like the additional clip on the side for holding kitchen scissors.

Beautiful addition to the countertop, sturdy and holds more knives than you would think. Great buy for the money! I would definitely recommend.

Simple to insert and remove the few knifes that I use most often. No hunting around in a drawer for the right one. Doesn't take up much space on the counter. Looks just like the ad photo. But there was no directions for use of a u-shaped metal rod anywhere. I looked it up on the internet and found the directions on a German website for the product. Good thing they had lots of photos. It hangs on the top of the holder and is for scissors. I keep my kitchen scissors there - an added bonus.

Now I can get rid of the bulky wood knife stand and use this one. Looks very nice, and take small space. Good fit for our new apartment. Only if they have a space to put scissor in as well.

Not amazing quality, or very sturdy. But for the price it's great. Fits all of our random knives well.

The product works well and has a nice appearance. It’s a change from the regular woodblock and, I believe, is more sanitary as it can be washed. I also hang my household scissors from it as a little hanger is also provided with this product.

So convenient and space saver! Super easy to stick your knives in and take them out! However, you can't really clean the inside so must wash your knife every time you take it out to use.
