The description does state bright but my word we were not prepared for the light that was emitted from this thing when we turned it on. Comes with a chain to hang and a long wire, part clear then black with an integrated switch so the cable can be routed easily. Perhaps a little too bright just to have on in the background at home, would do well at night however maybe not on the entrance as visitors might need a minute to regain their vision once entering.
