Classic Mystery Jigsaw Puzzle - Alfred Hitchcock, Black

I was stuck in a hotel for over 3 weeks due to a fire in my building.Out of boredom I purchased some puzzles. This one looked very interesting so why not?Not only was it cool to not know what it was supposed to look like when finished, but it was very high quality and came in a nice small box instead of a giant one. I REALLY enjoyed it and have since purchased another one in the series. I admit I did not read the clues/story but I will next time. I wanted to see if I could do it on my own with no hints.I want to also add that I had purchased a different puzzle from a different company prior to this one and it was HORRIBLE. The pieces were very poor quality, thin and did not "lock" together making completed clusters impossible to move around. Puzzle quality matters people :)I recommend!

This was such a fun puzzle! It came with a scenario of a murder mystery and the completed puzzle helps you solve the crime. It was extremely challenging - no picture of the completed puzzle since it would give away the solution to the crime.

i really enjoy mystery puzzles. i didn't think i would like doing a puzzle without knowing what the picture would look like but that added to the fun. i am giving five stars even though a few of the pieces didn't lie that flat and one piece was missing. amazon did send me a replacement so it's all good.

Though the story is a bit overly dramatic, the puzzle itself was a good challenge. Because it is in black and white, it is supremely difficult. Most of the pieces all look the same until you realize, 'oh wait, that white is half a shade darker than this white' and it's still guess and check. Even then, some of the pieces looked almost exactly the same and were the same color so you have to hold the pieces up to the light to make sure that it does fit together. The puzzle was a birthday present to my fiance and it took us almost a month to finish (working about an hour or less a day, sometimes not at all-- it was very tedious after a while). Regarding the "mystery", if you can figure out the impossible murder, kudos to you. Alby and I had a theory and it turned out to be way better than the actual ending. It was pretty disappointing, but the puzzle was well worth the time. Also, the picture here on amazon is not of the Alfred Hitchcock puzzle.

A little bit different for me. I don't usually do puzzles where I don't see the image so this was definitely more challenging but not so much so that it was frustrating.The price was less than half that some of the puzzle sites are selling it for.As others have said the image in the box is not the image of the puzzle so please bear that in mind.

Gave this to my dad for Christmas since he’s a fan of puzzles and Hitchcock. He really enjoyed the uniqueness of this gift - read the mystery and assemble the puzzle (no reference guide). Once the puzzle is complete it’s picture should solve the mystery.

First, the picture on the box is completely different from the picture you're putting together - and that's great! The cover art is uninspiring, and the actual puzzle art is really neat. However, the solving of the "mystery" is less reliant on discovering hidden secrets in the puzzle art, and more about reading the story setup carefully. The "twist" was disappointing as my wife and I were scouring the puzzle for little details, and in the end it relied on an often-used trope.The story gives you clues as to what you're putting together, but without an image to work from it really is a tough puzzle. It felt satisfying to solve, and the art works as a great piece to frame once complete. But I think the part where you "solve" the crime could have been a) executed better, or b) removed entirely, for a better experience.

My neighbors are avid puzzlers. I've worked these mystery puzzles before having great fun, especially at gatherings. Ulterior motive, we'll get to work them after they solve the puzzle!

Enjoyed doing this puzzle. Really enjoy it when you have to figure out what the picture is rather than just looking at picture and then solving the clues to the secondary puzzle.

Arrived very quickly. Great idea my kids love the challenge.
