This soldering iron is awesome!!
My expectations were super low for this but man, it's awesome! I got tired of dragging out the extension cord and iron every time the darn rabbits chewed through my Christmas lights so I got this so my life cold be a little easier. I didn't expect much, but wow. It really does work well. Temp control is within a couple degrees of the display, it sleeps when the iron is not in motion. The case is not 3D printer looking like others have reported; it actually looks injection molded. The display is easy to read. The cord is not the junky hard kind; feels silicone jacketed as far as flexibility (though it's not silicone). The irons head is well made and the grip is soft but not cheap feeling. The tip is well made also. My only one complaint is the solder that's included. Throw it away and get some decent 60/40 electronics solder. The stuff it comes with does not melt cleanly or easily.I included pics of the instructions for those that like to read.

Very Handy Soldering Iron
I use this for EM Pinball repair - very handy, as it's more powerful than my small cordless iron, and much more flexible than a plug in iron.

I Was Honestly Impressed
I figured this would be the regular cheap import quality, but really wanted to have a battery powered soldering iron, so decided to give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised that the cord from the base to soldering iron was very good quality, and didn't stiffen up much in the cold. And it heats up much faster than expected. Not quite as fast as my 40yo Weller gun, but way faster than the 110v soldering irons I've used in the past. I haven't timed it, but I'd guess 6-8 seconds to melt solder?I hate giving 5 stars to anything, but for the price, this has far exceeded my expectations.

Nice Idea
Since I already owned two of the Dewalt Max 20 volt batteries and charger for my electric weed trimmerI thought I could not go wrong with this unit. It gets plenty hot and the temperature adjustment seems to work fine. It came with just one soldering tip and I am not sure how hard it would be to order extras when the time comes. hopefully they will be available. The tip # is a T12-K. Price unknown.

Works ok for a circuit board but not for general soldering
This would be great if it were a larger tip. Its designed more for small circuit board projects. do not buy this if you're expecting to solder 16 gauge and larger wires.
