This drain basket is well made and fits perfectly. Make sure your drain has a round hole in the middle and not an oblong slot.

There were no dimensions given for this sink strainer. Make sure that you measure the strainer shaft that contains the ball-lock. The diameter of this one is not standard and does not fit our drain. Even so and even if you have the diameter of the old one, the diameter for this replacement is not provided.

Drop-in replacement for the strainer basket I apparently lost. Would have preferred solid stainless to chrome-plated. A little pricey for what it is, IMO. But it fits perfectly and stops water from going down the drain. As the product description states, the business end of this unit is 3/8" inch in diameter.Note to first-time buyers and reviewers whose sinks this didn't fit: As I was searching for this style of strainer basket I noticed there were ball-lock types with at least two different shaft diameters. The one I was replacing had a 3/8" bullet shaped end like this one and this one fit just fine. If you needed one with a 5/16" shaft and didn't measure, you would be disappointed to find this one 1/16" inch too large. I also noted two different styles of both 3/8" and 5/16" types. No idea whether they're interchangeable as long as you get the shaft size right or what but at least some of the listings have mechanical drawings.

After searching in three hardware stores for a match to replace our drain basket with no results I tried Amazon. This was the only place I could find the exact replacement for our drain basket--measurements, shape, and design. Thankfully the photos and measurements provided were very clear and led to our purchasing this. It is a very close match to our original one, which might have come from a plumbers' supply. The only difference is that it is very slightly thinner/lighter weight in composition. But this does not at all affect the fit--it's perfect! We purchased two just to have an extra, though the original one had lasted over 11 years. It was actually the black rubber part that was finally giving out and no longer sealing. This is a great relief, as we did not want to have to replace the entire part of the drain by a plumber! Great product--would strongly recommend it.

Everything looks correct on this replacement drainstop. Even held side by side with my old one. But the plug stem is not long enough to engage the drain hole. Even though both stems appear to be the same length. I think the small ball is just a bit higher up the stem than my original. Workmanship seems ok quality. Materials are ok good quality. But the stopper just does not work for my sink. Disappointing but not really the sellers fault.

Excellent product, worth every dollar!

I needed a particular, VERY hard to find stopper for my 40 year old sink. I found it from this merchant only!!! It fit perfectly, it’s sturdy, and works like a charm! It was so nice and shiny in the one sink, I bought another one for the other side that wasn’t even broken ( and kept the old one for a spare)! It arrived way before they said it would too! That’s always a plus!
