I wasn't expecting this to work but it does! OK there is a bit of a hum but it has enabled us to save mp3 versions of family recordings going back to the 1970's. Easy to use. Pity it can't be manufactured here (and the manual written here).

I suppose you get what you pay for. But I can't give this any redeeming features. Tinny and poor quality build. Not looking for top quality but I did at least expect the machine to function. The recording seemed to miss a beat every so often (used a brand new flash drive) and then even a pre-recorded tape in the machine started to 'wobble' in fluctuating tape speed. Gave up with it. Bought one twice the price (still under £50 paid) This one is robust with a good solid tape interior and is brilliant. So pay a bit more and get the benefit.

50 year old tapes, not listened to for around 20 years, some professional (Readers Digest) and some home made.Things to do: - read the instructions a couple of times to understand them: - wind the tapes back and forward a couple of times to eliminate the sticking, sound leakage/transfer and fluctuations you sometimes get playing old tapes for the first time in a while. To listen I used headphones rather than the annoying buds.Although looks cheap and fragile at first, I found it works well and does what it is told. Clever to be able to identify and memorise sound intrusions which can then be removed from recordings you have made. Nearly all intrusions removed. All play well in the car sound system. Sound quality is of its era, ie old tapes, recorded on old technology, sound like old tapes! That's what I expected.For the price it is acceptable quality and VFM.

The media could not be loaded. This cassette player is great for nostalgia lovers like me. I bought this cassette player along with 2 cassettes of Michael Jackson for a friend of mine who loves Michael Jackson. A great gift for a birthday or Christmas. I bought it for his birthday and he loved it. We had the opportunity to use and listen together.We are very satisfied with this product, it is easy to use and the sound quality is really good. (The sound quality is the same as with old cassette players. It's a great feeling to feel it.) How nice to be able to listen to old tapes that I thought I would never hear again!It's light and compact, very simple to use, and the sound quality is great and value for money. This product was easy to use. We were able to transfer my tape to the computer using the USB port and transfer music without any problems.

Bought this initially to just play my collection of old cassette tapes as old machine had long passed away. Hooked it up to my stereo system by means of the headphone socket (3.5 jack output) but had difficulty in finding a connection lead to work correctly. The headphones worked fine. The socket on the player seems quite fussy as to what leads it will work with.At first all worked well and despite the output from the unit being quite poor my amplifier made up for the lack of bass and tone and I was enjoying listening to my tapes again. The player has an auto-reverse function and this is where it started to let me down. After a few tapes had played successfully on both sides it then started to chew up and wind the tape around the capstan instead of auto reverse. This proved to be the case on the next few tapes I tried and will now do it every time a tape is played. The auto-reverse can supposedly be selected off but this function will not work on my machine - so it isn't that much use. Have since bought a JVC cassette/CD unit that works perfectly, without ruining cassettes.Didn't try the MP3/flashdrive converter so can't comment on this function.You get what you pay for - this is cheap so don't expect much!

Given it one star because it looks fun, pity it didn’t work. It would fast forward and rewind but there was no sound when it was doing this. It would not play. So cheap looking, but then it was. Disappointed.
