The Young Child and Mathematics Second Edition

My wife is using this book for a college class she is taking and tells me that it will make a good reference book for ideas in the class room, she has been teaching for more than 35 years and is always trying to find new and better techniques to teach her students, this book is going to go on her teaching resource shelf for reference.

some good ideas for working with little ones

We were pleased with this text. It has lots of good, practical information to share, complete with pictures. I'll be trying some of their suggestions with the kindergartener I am tutoring. This text is required reading for a primary grades math methods course, and it is a valuable resource.

This textbook provides lots of creative and fun math activities (shapes, patterns, numbers, etc.) for preschool and kindergarten children. It is easy to read and has drawing illustrations of some of the activities.
