Very heavy stoneware that has small imperfections in the greenware and firing process but still a very high quality product. small chipping of the foot in the greenware procedd before firing causes these imperfections there is a "bump" in the center of the dinner plates. the bowls are very nice with a rounded inner edge but still consistant with glaze runs and greenware imperfections, great casual wear for customers that like a "Country" feel with dinnerware, As these are casual they would be great for everyday use and when serving family on a day-to-day basis, I did not find any edge chips or broken pieces in this set. the glaze is a high gloss finish which indicates a high dollar glaze. the smaller plates had noticeable glaze runs or bubbles in the greenware process. Highly Recommend for every day use.

The media could not be loaded. Received my beautiful platters, BUT, one arrived broken! The packaging could have been better, such as bubble wrap the serving ware, especially if porcelain! The trays are in a cardboard box, which is placed in an Amazon box for shipping. Where is the protection for these beautiful porcelain servicing trays? Amazon is replacing the platters but have not received the replacements yet. Hope they come in tact before the thanksgiving holiday.

This is a really nice dinnerware set. It is four bowls, four small plates with full pattern, and four dinner plates. The style is nice and seems to somehow remind me of a picnic and christmas at the same time. These are very thick and sturdy, so should last a while. The workmanship on the pattern is very good and should survive frequent use and washing. They are both dishwasher and microwave safe. They are made for Martha Stewart by the gibson company, a stoneware and porcelain maker among other things, that is used by several famous brands and has been around for more than 40 years. I'd say this would be great for anyone for the holidays, or for those with a decor that would be bolstered by this service for four. These would make a good gift as well for someone either for a christmas or wedding present.

This dish set is gorgeous. I got it to be the "nice" serve-ware on Christmas & Christmas Eve, but the pattern is subtle enough and the dishes are durable enough that I think they'll actually enter the regular rotation from Thanksgiving until the end of January.
