Edge 98611 EAS Expandable EGT Kit

What's not to love about plug and play??Easy install (if you have the port to place the probe drilled and tapped already) - interface to my Edge Insight Monitor was seamless.

I ordered with intentions of getting starter cable with it too. Unlike the picture it does not come with one…

this was a replacement for an EGT probe I purchased 3 years ago.The probe worked when installed. We will see how long it lasts.

the picture is not accurate, I should have read a bit more, the price was ok for the product compared to what I could have gotten it for with the wiring harness included. it will teach me to read a little closer that's all. So I cant install it until I get the wiring harness.

This is the fourth probe I’ve had and it only made it a few months before going bad. I’ve been told it’s due to bad engine grounds on the Duramax engines, but have checked all grounds and even added a ground to no avail. And I don’t see why it would work for 3 months and then just stop working. Some days it reads around a 100 degrees while accelerating or pulling a load and other days it reads 2000 degrees while the truck is idling in the driveway. The Edge CTS monitors are great for everything else but I am just going to go to a pillar mounted gauge to monitor my egts. I installed an auto meter egt gauge in my other Duramax and it has worked without failing for going on eight years. So I’d recommend that route.

works very well mounted it in the passengers manifold, do not over tighten!

Great product, however make sure you read the fine print as this picture shows that it come with the EAS starter cable. It does not, and you need it to be able to use the probe!!
