This is the one!
If you are just starting out with Latin and need a grammar reference book, this is the one. Everything is beautifully clearly laid out and easy to understand. So it's not as comprehensive as Kennedy, but that is for more advanced students. This book makes nonsense of the oft heard criticism that the Cambridge Latin Course does not cover grammar properly. This is the best introductory Latin Grammar in existence! Just buy it!

Latin grammar
Good basic book that complements other books in the series

it's probably the best one currently in print
I've perhaps begrudingly given this book four stars - if you want a modern Latin Grammar reference, it's probably the best one currently in print, and the most comprehensive, going beyond the requirements of GCSE.I do feel it could be more clearly laid out, even just in terms of basic typography and tabulation, though. And I find it quite hard to navigate - it cross-references itself via rather obtuse section numbers when straightforward page numbers would be less confusion. My third grumble is the depth of explanations - these are pretty terse, and on several occasions, rather than actually explain the difference between two similar uses (e.g. reflexive pronouns and emphatic pronouns), it just gives a couple of example sentences and says "compare the two" - that's not an explanation!I guess Cambridge University Press might defend themselves by saying this is just a reference book, not a text book. I can't help feeling there's scope to make it better though.

Excellent purchase
Well-laid out and includes all essential Latin grammar for anyone studying Latin at school. Bought for my daughter as it was on her school book list. She's taking Higher Latin in Scotland, similar level to AS level in England, but this would have also been a useful reference book for earlier stages of study.

Very useful Latin grammar for students who find the traditional Kennedy ...
Very useful Latin grammar for students who find the traditional Kennedy rather heavy going. I highly recommend this book. After have tuition from an excellent teacher for several years, I am now trying to progress alone and am finding this book a great help.

A good way to learn Latin.
I found this textbook very useful to help me to learn Latin. It made it interesting and informative at the same time.

Too advanced for Book 1
I have found that the Cambridge Latin Course text books are quite light on grammar so bought this to help my 12 year old son. It is a very comprehensive accompaniment to the text book but its not really suitable for the Book 1 stage as in general its too advanced. I'm sure it will come in useful later!
