The illustrations are all in black and white . Great, much loved story.
I love the story, The Secret Garden. I received a version of the book that was illustrated in full color by Nora Unwin from my grandmother when I was about nine years old. As an adult, I bought an edition with full color illustrations by Tasha Tudor for my children in the 1990's. It was the edition that was copyrighted in 1962 by J.B. Lippincott Co. The illustrations were in full color. These , in this edition that was copyrighted in 1990 by Harper Collins Publishers, are the same illustrations, except that they are all just in black and white except for the cover picture. I am disappointed. I wanted to give a copy with colored illustrations to my grandson, age nine. I do still have my old copies of the book, but I wont give them away. Although this book does have action and mystery in it, a major idea that it expresses, that nature, exercise, positive thinking, and friendship heal the body and spirit, may be advanced for some nine-year-olds who are used to action books.

Mediocre cover
The silver letters began rubbing off before I even started reading. The font is a good size, but cover quality is mediocre

Great book but no necklace
Bought this book as a gift for my daughter but did not come with a necklace

Charm was not included.
My 10 year old Granddaughter chose this as a gift from me. She was excited to get a book and a necklace. However, only the book came. I am very proud of her that she accepted it as "just the way it is" but I was disappointed for her. I will think twice before I purchase again.
