Better than expected!
It’s sturdy and the tools seem to be of good quality.

Not premium, but serviceable
I got these for the fireplace on the screened porch, so I wasn't interested in expensive show pieces. I wanted functional, serviceable fire tools that could tarnish and still be usable and look alright. These seem to be that level quality. They work nicely to stoke the fire and clean out ashes and so far have done fine on the porch where they are exposed to more moisture than if next to the livingroom fireplace.

I wish I’d had these 40 years ago!
100/100I have to be honest and admit that I was skeptical when I ordered these. I’ve seen and owned so many cheaply made, basically garbage fireplace tool sets that I expected this to be another one.Boy, was I surprised. This set is HEAVY and SOLID. In fact, I didn’t expect it to be so heavy and actually dropped the shipping box when it arrived. It is HEAVY. But that’s a good thing. The set comes fully disassembled. The basic frame is one piece, so you have to add the legs/feet, each with 2 supplied screws (the leg/foot screws are screwed into the basic frame where they belong). Simply screw them on and it’s now able to stand. The legs/feet are the same heavy, solid steel, so it stands solidly. Next you add the tool rack which is bagged with it’s bolts and nuts. Referring to the instructions, it’s easy to correctly position the rack and tighten the bolts. Once that’s done, assemble the brush tool, unwrap the other tools (also solid, heavy steel), and hang them. *POOF* you’re done!A really nice, heavy, useful fireplace tool set. They aren’t “fancy”, but I am more interested in function, not form.Ultimately, are they worth the price? Well . . . if you have a fireplace, you need a set of tools. These are 100% . . . GREAT! I only wish I had owned these from the beginning 40 years ago!

Pretty nice
I got these fireplace tools for my outside fire pit. I've used the poker a ton and it's held up well. All tools are made with a heavy metal. The stand I'm not too fond of because the tools just fall off of it. I just stack the tools on another stand that I have. The poker and shovel do have some paint that has come off and it appears they're beginning to rust. To be honest, I'm not too concerned about it. These are quality tools for your fireplace inside or outside.

Average Duty
I know: you're looking at that one, blurry picture and trying to decide if this really is a "heavy duty" toolset. Well... it isn't. It's not flimsy, but it's not a nice bunch of forged iron or solid, welded steel. The stand is rectangle tube with a medium gauge wall and probably won't ever bend, but it lacks the heft of a solid structure. The tools themselves are also medium duty and will probably survive five years, but not ten or twenty.

This is a solid set of fireplace tools.
This arrived well-packaged with all the pieces protected in bubble wrap, which is important given that this is black metal, which, if scratched, would be very noticeable. There are assembly instructions but it's a fairly straight-forward assembly. I've experienced my fair share of fireplace tools over the years, and I can say that these tools are solid. I tested all of them and feel comfortable that they will last. The one thing I didn't like was the handles. They're thin, cylindrical handles. They are made out of the same quality metal as the tools themselves, but they are just narrow. Style-wise they look great, but as far as for practical use, it's tough to get a good grip on them. It would be like using a golf club without grips. You can grab on to them, but it doesn't feel very secure. It would be better if they were more ergonomically suited for handling....maybe tapered wider at the top or with grooves. The stand is kind of flimsy, but it looks nice. I never owned fireplace tools where the stand was top-notch, so that's not a big deal. The stand does the job of holding the tools (which are solid). I have to say, when I researched fireplace tools, there is some REALLY expensive stuff out there! These are very inexpensive, and you get every piece that the more expensive sets have, and the tools themselves are solid. I think, despite the handles (which aren't THAT bad but could be improved upon) and the flimsy-ish stand, these are definitely worth getting. You won't get much better spending 2-3x more.

Nice standard tool set, but shipping took so long
I have a fireplace in my house that I haven't used much, partially because I don't have the tools to properly manage a fire. This seemed like a perfect basic set that included the essentials and would look good. The shipping for this took about a month from order date to delivery date. I don't need everything in 2 days, but I was a little disappointed in how long it took. Luckily it wasn't something I needed urgently. The set was easy to assemble and has worked well for me so far.
