With a 200 amp circuit you really want a failsafe breaker. I've always used the well respected name brand version of this style with confidence. However that version is not always available and costs almost 3 times as much. With some skepticism and great trepidation I ordered this unit. What I've found is this unit is essentially identical to the established brand version, at least on the basis of appearance, weight, and action of the switching mechanism. The only visible difference is that the heads of the four rivets holding the case together is silver on this unit, and black on the other--a difference that could easily be due to different manufacturing runs.I still fear there is some difference inside the sealed body, some lesser material used for the contacts or spring, but I can’t evaluate that without breaking open the body. I do wish there was more information with regards to the internal components, but testing with a variable power supply shows activation according to the minimal specs available.I’m still uneasy whether there is equivalence in all respects, but with what I can measure and discern there is nothing lesser about this much less expensive version. I'm going to put it into use installed in the engine compartment at the head of a trunkline running power to the back of my Jeep Rubicon.

I've used these style breakers for a couple different DC/Solar van set-ups. It’s nice to have a switch style to be able to turn on/off different circuits in the system. One of the systems in a van has four of these in different amperages for various sections of the system. The solar and charge controller is turned on during the day and off at night.This specific 30A breaker is used for the breaker/disconnect to the solar panels on the roof.These breakers work well and double as an active on/off switch if they can be located in convenient areas of the DC system build. I’ll be using these for an upcoming build for a small, mobile solar DC system with a high wattage AC inverter.For best practice, these breakers should be used in a DC system as close to the batteries as possible with the correct size cables for the intended load.

When I ran 70 amps at 28 volts DC the post on the CB got so hot it started to melt the plastic. At least it tripped. The manufacturer may have mislabeled it. It's definitely not a 200 amp DC circuit breaker.

These are nice breakers - they break on short. They are a solid feeling electrical component. The terminal studs are approximately .300" with clearance for a decent size lug. I don't want to open up a breaker to explore. I want it to work, which it probably wouldn't if I opened it. It's a machine in there. I don't like that there is no insulation for the terminals, but that is easily remedied. I like this breaker at 25 bucks. 5 Stars

I have used other very similar circuit breakers with manual shutoff that are generally similar in design. This is built well, and the enclosed parts are probably waterproof. Does seem to trip in an overcurrent situation. The only downside to this product over similar ones is that it does not have a cover to go over the cable posts to prevent accidental contact.
