Older teen and adult party game
My daughter and her friends played this for her 17th birthday. They had a blast with it, but there is one character that is a bit risque and my daughter ended up with her character. She was highly embarrassed while reading the closing statements, were they horrible? No, but for a group of young kids that have high morals and standards they she was embarrassed to be reading about her character undressing and climbing into bed naked only to notice a man in her bed. Everyone thought it was funny and did the typical giggle and belly laughs and eventually my daughter realized that, that was as far as her character went, the man was passed out drunk and didn't even know she was there (again, all fictional characters and just reading the story line) in the end she too thought it was funny and they all had a good laugh at how red she turned while reading. No one was able to guess the murderer, so it was a good challenge for them all. They played with about 9 people. This would be a very fun party game if everyone came dressed in their characters role. Could easily be played with younger children if you prepped who ever got this one character or simply took her out. Loved that you didnt have to have all characters to play the game.

Fun and Easy for all! Worth buying :)
I've been to and hosted a few murder mysteries and here's what stands out to me about this one:PROS:+Super easy to set up and play. I was the only one in the group who had done or been to a murder mystery before and it still went super smoothly and easily. No one had trouble figuring out what to do or say and we all had a great time.+The number of guests isn't set, you can have up to 14 guests but don't need to have 14 (I did it with 12). This is great because it's usually pretty hard to find the right amount of guys and girls (and sometimes we even have a guy play a girl character).+The murderer is randomly decided at the party, so the host doesn't even know and can't accidentally find out.+The characters are all really fun and have punny names, we had a blast dressing up and looked like a very eccentric all together! It was also very easy to remember who was who because the costumes and names are really obvious for each other.+You can technically play it again and again because each character has 2 scrips for if they're murderer or not, but I still remember a few of the details about some of the characters so if you do play it again with the same group you'll be listening for who has a different script instead of incongruencies. I do plan on doing this one again though, but with a different group and I won't be contributing to guesses or comments about the murderer.+The website was very helpful with having the costume suggestions and character descriptions up, so I could just text guests the link and they got to prepare. They also have a cool playlist on Spotify that I played in the background to set the mood, and they have the audio recordings for the different acts which was very helpful.+Works great for a range of ages. Lots of murder mysterirs have affairs and scandals which sometimes make it awkward, but this one kept things appropriate for I'd say ages 13 and up. The actress is an adult actress (this isn't a spoiler, it's in her introduction) so she's really the only scandalous character that you can not include if you want to keep the game super appropriate.CONS:-Even with 12 guests it ran long, we ate dinner first then did the murder mystery because we had to split up in a few seating areas for our large at my house for our large group, but going through all 12 people sharing their scripts and answering questions got a little dull about 8 people in.-The clues in between the 3 acts assume all the characters are in play so it shares snippets about them, so if you're using less characters then there's a sentence here or there that doesn't mean anything (which wasn't a big deal, but a minor detail.)OVERALL:We loved this murder mystery, I would buy it again and will host this again for a different and smaller group.

This was FANTASTIC. We had so much fun
This was FANTASTIC. We had so much fun! I have done quite a few murder mystery parties. This was was great. I really love the fact that you can play this many different times (at least the number of characters). You draw to be the murderer once you get to the party. So, the next time you play, you can switch up the characters and someone else can be the murderer. This was well put together and I will be getting the other ones that are offered from this company.

Had a blast!
Everyone dressed up, came in costumes. Made the room as much like a train as we could. It was a blast! Easy to use, we had ages 12-76 and we all participated, laughed and had a great time together. We even had 6 cynical teens who had a great time! When people left, said they don't know how I can top it next year! Highly recommend. Oh, it's easy because the murderer is not assigned until the party starts. Can play with any group of people and if someone cannot come at last minute, that's ok. The script your character gets has "if you are innocent, say this:" and if you are guilty, say the following:" Very easy to do.

All you need
Has everythingg you need, even awards and invitations. I like that you provide guests with random folded slips and they have different scripts if they ar guilty or innocent! Should be fun

It was a lot of fun and the content appropriate for all ages
This game was played with 12 people, ages 11- 44. It was a lot of fun and the content appropriate for all ages. Everyone was assigned their character ahead of time which allowed all of the players to come in character. The costumes were almost better than the actual game. I gave the game 4 stars because it would have been more fun if it had included some props or hand-held "clues".

Easily adapts to your number of guests
This is a very flexible murder mystery. The murderer is not pre-assigned to one character. You pick the murderer via lottery before the game begins making it possible to reuse the game (and no worries that the pre-assigned murderer won't come the night of the party, etc). Easily adapts to your number of guests.

This is just ONE murder mystery game
The game says 6-12 players and we had 7 players. We liked that the game was flexible on number of people until the party started. The game said we didn’t have to play the version on the train, so we selected the Simple Christmas Murder. The problems started from there because all the documentation referred to a murder of a man on a moving train with strangers but we were in a house where a woman died and we had to invent relationships for a family Christmas lunch. Don’t kid yourself- it’s just ONE game and if you stick to Murder on a Train you’ll have a great time.

Worked well over zoom
I bought this game because I thought it would work well as a social event during the lockdown/over zoom. It did! Also, the flexi-ness is GREAT! We had a player ask to join an hour before the party and it was no problem! This is how we did it:* Whilst we were waiting for it to come I asked colleagues who wanted to participate. We were 8 players + 1 who wanted to watch but not really play, who we made the narrator who read the evidence. The players were 5 women, 3 men, but one woman wanted to play Houdunni.* I (host) received the game and chose my character. Then I started a whatsapp conversation and linked to the costume instructions and everyone else chose a character and we agreed an evening.* A few nights before the party I scanned the scripts into PDF, for the characters we used (but photos would have worked). Each character script is only 3 pages in A5. There are also questions to ask (questions menu) and I scanned that in. I emailed everyone their script and the questions.* About an hour before the party my husband (who was not playing) randomly assigned evyerone a number and texted them their number (and for the murderer, texted them confirming they were the murderer).* We all joined a zoom call and using the ... in the corner of our screens we temporarily changed our screen names to our character names. We also used gallery view (one of the 2 view options you can toggle on and off).* For each act the narrator read the evidence and then chose 1 person to ask the first question (player A). Player A chose someone to ask (Player B), we all heard the answers -- so fun when some people used unexpected accents! -- and then Player B picked someone to ask. We could refill drinks, etc. in the breaks between acts. The only thing I would have changed is I might have read the evidence through and suggested we pick from those characters. Because the evidence mentions characters we were not using, I crossed those out before sending them to the narrator. The whole game took us about an hour, which was a good amount of time on zoom. 9 on screen also worked really well. Only one person guessed the correct murderer!

Lots of fun to be had!
We had the most fun for our parents 50th wedding anniversary! This murder mystery game provided a great opportunity to have fun and remain socially distanced all the same! We held it in the garden and had a plan to play on zoom if weather did not permit it.We used 8 characters (9 if you include one person who dressed up but did not read) and the great thing is you could play again and use different characters (or the same ones) and it’s a different murderer each time! The game materials were great additions, I downloaded the mp4’s of the evidence onto my phone from the website and we used a Bluetooth speaker to play it! The game comes with a CD as well but we found it easier to use the mp4.It is worth visiting the website to see additional information about your character for a bit of insight and to get you in the game mood! This is my 2nd one of these games and both have been very enjoyable!

Brilliant game! Easy to follow the script
Brilliant game! Easy to follow the script. We played with the family at Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed dressing up and putting on the relevant accents!

Great Fun
We played this over Zoom, so I had to scan all of the character documents to send to everyone. Then I got someone else to allocate player numbers, so that the murderer was a secret to all of the players. It worked well and we had a great night. This is something that could be played again too, in person, once we are able. It was so good, we have now purchased another one 'Murder at the Pizzaria' to play.

Great for using more than once
Amazing flexibility to use all or just some of the characters. Unusual for murder mystery games in that you can use this multiple times with the same group of people because the murderer is picked at random (you pick numbers out of a bowl) meaning it’s different every time you play!
