These cases do have a good firmness to them and work perfectly.

I have been using these as a landing place for earrings and rings. I tend to take them off in various locations so things end up loose on the counter. With these I can have a specific location for things. Now they won't get lost! I don't know how these would travel since they don't connect to each other or have covers.
