I would give this 3.5 but the review doesn't allow half marks...
My dog has been suffering from allergies for some time now but medications such as antihistamines didn't seem to help, plus I didn't want to give them long term. His symptoms were at the milder end of the spectrum - rubbing his face on things, scratching his face and licking his paws. He wasn't at the more severe stage of hair loss or raw patches of skin, but it was bothering him.I tried this product because it has natural ingredients and I feel that it is better not to use drugs long term if it can be avoided.I give him one capsule morning and evening, which the directions say is supposed to be for treatment of severe symptoms, however my dog is on the large side (38kg), so by body weight the dose is probably not as high. There has been a definite improvement with the itching as he is now scratching and rubbing his face much, much less and I haven't seen him licking at his paws for weeks. The improvement started to be noticeable within a week or so.I don't know if this is a coincidence or not, but at the same time as I started giving the capsules, he got diarrhea. I started him at the two capsules a day, so I took it back to one a day for a few days then reintroduced it back up to two. In case it wasn't a coincidence, I suggest that you start at one a day for a few days, then increase to two. To note, my dog does have a sensitive stomach, so it might not effect all dogs in the same way.I think this product has benefited my dog and made him more comfortable.I will buy them again when this packet runs out.

OK - not as good as the original biscuits
My dog had been on the biscuit formula of this for years and after the first week of use his constant itching had stopped. I had tried everything else. Sadly the biscuits were discontinued and replaced with these capsules which are just are not as good. I have seen several people agree that these caps are not as good as the biscuits. My dog has not gone back to anything like the itching and scratching of before but he is worse than when he was on the biscuits. So if you hadn't tried these biscuits and you have an itchy dog these will definitively be worth a try. These are also a bore in that they are too big to give to a small dog as a pill and as mine is such a fussy eater, sometimes he doesn'at eat anything all day, it means that these have to be 'disguised' in something like a bit of ham or meat. He used to love the biscuits and all I had to do was feed him those and now this is a palava. He is also on the biscuits by the same manufacturer for intestine health and to control worms. I hope that they do not mess around with these.Shame - the biscuits were great. These are just OK.

It's a miracle!
My terrier cross has had a bad grass pollen allergy since we got him several years ago. When the summers have been quite warm and had a high pollen count he has had to use atopica from the vet, £100 a month! Last year we managed with only evening primrose oil, but this year his skin was terrible. I have cancelled the pet insurance so wanted to find something cheaper that works. This works wonderfully. After about 2 weeks of using one capsule of this with evening primrose oil his skin was back to normal. Would recommend for anyone wanting to avoid high vet bills!

Not as good as the old style biscuits
Not as good as the old style biscuits, much harder to administer (my collie used to enjoy the biscuits as a treat but has to be tricked into taking these), but they do still seem to work.

Not sure it helps
My dog is happy to eat this when added to her food but I don't think it makes any significant difference to her itchiness.

These may or may not work - but beware, ...
These may or may not work - but beware, they absolutely reek. My dog basically wouldn't eat if the powder had been sprinkled on/in his food (he's not a fussy eater normally). They actually smell very strongly when not even broken apart - possibly ok if you can get your dog to take them intact, but this will be a struggle for me !.

Packaging and information very poor. In future I will buy the individual ingredients
I think there is something wrong with my order. The small pack doesn't say how many capsules it contains (although it does give a weight of 50g (1.76 oz) which says it is enough for a small dog for 5 months. At the price - £38 - I thought I was getting a larger quantity, which would last our ten dogs at least a few weeks. Packaging and information very poor. In future I will buy the individual ingredients, which are not expensive.. Previously I have use the baked version which was excellent but I am a very disappointed customer with this order.
