This is a good replacement filter, BUT you need to know that has some differences from the original.The replacement are not EPA certified for cyst filtering, And the original are approved by EPA to filtering SOME prefiltered CYST. This is a huge difference that can be reflected on your health. The explanation for this is that the Original filter has tiniest filtering pores and also active carbon. The replacement only have active carbon wich help reducing sediments,chlorine and odors also can improve the taste. Another difference is on the operation of the filter, the pressure of the water with the replacement is fluctuant because do not have the same pore size as the original and this is reflected when you take water from the fridge door.For me I prefer the replacement because is 50% less expensive and also I had a prefilter for the home main water pipe. And of course is better the replacement filter than using an Expired Original.

Rather than purchase the brand name (read expensive) filters I decided to give this brand a shot. They do the job just fine. I notice no significant difference between this filter and the previous name brand one I had. My home is already on city water which is fairly good quality so this mainly assists in the residual minerals and chlorine. Be sure to properly "flush" the filter when you first use it, otherwise you will notice the carbon "dust" in the first couple gallons, and for Pete's sake remember that your ice tray runs the water through the same filter so you may need toss some ice too.

I’ve been using this brand of water filter for the last 5-6 years. The filter has performed consistently well over that period of time being replaced every 6 months based on LG recommendations. Much less expensive than an LG filter.

I installed this filter 4 months ago. It work very well and half the price of LG Brand.

I was a bit nervous about replacing my Kenmore filter with this "generic". As I began to run the 2 1/2 gallons recommended to flush the line, I grew even more nervous. The first pitcher was rather "charcoal" in color. The second gallon was much cleared and the third looked like good water. I tasted it and it seemed fine. After waiting over night for the water to cool, I was delighted to find the water to be perfect! Next time I will order the two-pack to take advantage of my Prime. As a bonus this is manufactured in the USA.

It works and I didn’t have to drive to get it.

it fits and i hope it works... who knows, you really need to send water for some serious testing before and after filter to make sure it doing its jog, But i don't have time and money for it so just buy it and hope that you can trust manufacture.

This is EXACTLY the same as the brand name filter for my LG fridge, but less than 1/2 the price. I am so glad I found this. I don't really care if my water is filtered or not (I grew up on a farm - with well water; so I'm not picky), but my husband cares. I didn't tell him I found this off brand filter and he hasn't noticed a difference!
