Highly recommend (BUT)
I had been using a small, cheap bass amp for practising and jamming with friends on a Roland TD-11. It wasn’t very loud and distorted at higher volumes. This is a totally different kettle of fish. It’s a quality bit of kit, very loud with a very clear sound.Edit-2 months in its broken. Completely distorted sound and unusable. Should still be under warranty. Messaging Roland now...

Quality kit for drum
Having an electronic drum kit is fun for all the family because the drummist uses headphones. However when the sound is put through this Roland PM-03 amplifier your can create all the sonic mayhem you need. With a very small footprint, it sits under the snare drum and creates a thoroughly convincing surround-sound field. It's possible to vary the volume from whisper quiet to full tilt and it doesn't lose accuracy or distort. The PM-03 works perfectly with the roland HD-1 drum kit although it will work with other kits. I am amazed at the build quality as well as the exemplary sound.

Lovely looking and sounding monitor, ideal for home use
A neat and compact little monitor. It has a very small footprint as it is not like the usual bick black square monitors you see on the market. Controls are very easy to use. I use the monitor on max volume and there is no distortion at all. My only gripe about this monitor, and why I drop one star is that it could be a little louder, but all in all it's a very decent speaker for home use producing true and bright sounds. Works brilliantly with my Roland TD-1KV V-Drum Kit.

Sounds amazing!
If you have edrums get one of these. I used headphones when I started then found an old keyboard amp so I could play without a cable dangling down. It did the job but the sound was crude. This is on another level. It has amazing sound - almost as good as headphones. It's a personal monitor not a PA so you'd still need a PA to play your edrums live but this will let you head what you're playing without being drowned out by the band. For home use it's absolutely fantastic. Well worth the money.

Not bad once the set up is right
I initially plugged a single cable from my e-drum kit’s brain into this and I was totally underwhelmed by the sound. In fact, I was about to send it back. However, I thought I’d give it another chance and buy two new cables so I could connect it to both left and right inputs and that made a world of difference. I don’t know if it was my old cable or if it was because I was only connecting it through a single mono input, but I’m glad I didn’t give up.Now I have any amp which serves the purpose. Would I gig with it? I doubt it, but it’s good for practice when you don’t want to wear headphones.

No.. Roland can do better than this!
This amp is NOT what you want to amplify an e drum kit! The signal is just too dynamic for a simple amp like this.. surely Roland would know this? :/ the sound washes out into a mess of distortion that sounds like you dunked it under water on anything other than really quiet.. making this a completely pointless purchase given I was hoping it was going to be savage! It’s definitely not suitable for what it was supposedly designed to do? I thought I may have got a dud one but I phoned around to ask drum techs at local stores and yes DONT BUY THESE! :) You want an active PA speaker. Sound aside.. aesthetically, I LOVE THIS AMP :D I love how it looks and I love the monster grip across the top to pick it up if only it did what it was supposed to :(

Not the cheapest but you wouldn't want the cheapest.
I bought a cheaper speaker for my roland edrum kit and it sounded terrible. Had to send it back and got this, which makes it sound like a drum kit. When practising you need to hear each note crisp and clear which is what this gives you. It's got plenty volume for solo practice - it's not a gigging speaker. Roland make great kit and you pay more for it.
