I can only sleep on my back because of multiple knee surgeries. For at least 10 years I've been sleeping in the exact same position. Because of this I have gotten incredibly sore heels over time. I have tried every bootie, sherpa wool, convoluted foam, cylinder type that keep your heel from touching the bed. You name it, I've tried it. The cylinder one, bought here on Amazon, purple, expensive, like $55 for 1!, that one is very helpful but I can't keep it on all night because it hurts my calf muscles over a few hours. I started using Penetrex about 5 or so years ago. It does take some time to start working, so be patient and plan on spending a lot of money. This stuff doesn't come cheap. I use a 4 oz one about every month, and that's just for my heels. It definitely starts working over time, which is great, but I have come to notice that my heels are absolutely relying on it now. Morning and night. I have to use it. If I don't I am in great pain. I truly believe my heels are addicted to it! If I would skip even one application I would feel it for sure. I have also noticed that the skin on my heels is drier too, so I depend on it for that. It doesn't smell at all if you ask me, it has a very nice, thick texture. I rub it in for about 3-5 minutes on each heel. I keep buying it month after month with subscribe and save to save a little money. It does help, truly, but seriously, it makes you keep needing it forever.My problem is a tricky one, I don't think there are tons of people who suffer from heel pain, but if you do, this product will work for you.
