Awesome! Perfect for Androids
I ordered this to replace the dragonfly red I got last week. Dragonfly red does not work with my galaxy s7 but this sure does. I had downloaded USB audio player pro to get the dragonfly to work but there was little improvement. Nextdrive works absolutely perfect with USB audio player pro. Volume can reach a very high level with no distortion and the sound quality has greatly improved. I am using Shure SE 530 headphones which are very decent. I am getting the SE 846's very soon and can't wait to use them with the Nextdrive! I am so happy I got this. This works great with the Samsung phone and I am guessing any smart phone. I love how small and portable it is. This is a great buy and must have for higher end headphones....I would highly recommend this with USB audio player pro. I will be replacing my galaxy s7 for either the S9 or the google pixel 2 and know this will work on either of those.

Not for USB-C phones, even with adapter! But great otherwise.
Works as advertised, boost sound quality significantly. But, with bleeding heart, I have to return it. I have usb-c phone, so I used an adapter. Usb-c connection is simply is designed to stay together on the go. It constantly slips out inside my pocket, cutting the sound. Unfortunately, as mobile solution, with usb-c it is unusable. However, if you have micro-usb, buy it with confidence. It should stay connected much better.

Brings Life to my Music
I have connected this microUSB DAC to aux port of my car stereo (Pioneer) and I can definitely hear the improvement in terms of clarity and volume. I listen mostly to hi resolution flac files of acoustic songs, solo guitar and violin pieces. I can hear every word of acoustic songs, every note of accompanying guitar or piano, and some songs with pronounced bass (for example, Paul Simon's acoustic version of "Diamonds in the soles of her shoes") is absolutely astonishing. I can't go back to playing the songs through Blutooth anymore.I have also used this DAC with my home Sony amplifier (via gold plated 3.5mm aux cable), and again the sound is phenomenal when you play hi resolution flac files. Compare to Chromecast Audio, I think this DAC gives somewhat of a softer sound (for lack of better description), whereas the Chromecast Audio device was little more harsh. Both gave comparable clarity and volume. I have not tested any 32bit music nor have I tested any other DAC.One other advantage of using this DAC over Chromecast Audio is when you play music from your phone (mine is Samsung S7 Edge), the battery drains half as fast as with Chromecast Audio. Overall I'm happy with the purchase. One question I have for the readers out there: I'm planning to upgrade my phone to Samsung Galaxy S10. What would be the best way to convert my microUSB DAC to work with USB C-type phone? Any advice would be appreciated.

Quality build compared to other products
Good build quality compared to other mobile DACs. Native DSD support is restricted to max volume so make sure you have a dedicated volume control or some crazy high impedance headphones if that's your plan. Either way my only issue is that the highs can be a bit harsh on most modernly produced music (e.g. prominent sibilance and all that) but with the right recording its a non-issue.

Great upgrade on your Macbook
Does not work. I would not buy this product. It is a failure. I tried it with multiple phones and it does not function. I sent it back for a refund.Update- The seller was kind enough to provide me with the alternate device with the larger USB connection needed for Apple devices. It does require an adapter for my Iphone X. After several days of listening I would give it high marks. The sound is very detailed. It really works best with my Apple MacBook Air. The sound with my Iphone is not at warm or lush as with the Blucoil. If you plan on using this only for your IPhone I think the adapter requirement makes it too bulky although it is manageable. Although less detailed the Blucoil is a better fit for a phone only. If you are looking to upgrade the sound on your Macbook also this is an excellent choice and I would recommend it.4 stars. The seller would get 6 stars if I could give them 6. They went OUT OF THEIR WAY to provide me a new device and ensure I was happy. I want to thank them.

Extremely colored sound
I'm giving this 3 stars because I did not find it to work as expected based on the way it was sold to me. I was excited when I saw that this used an ESS chip since I had heard a similar DAC in the LG V40. Unfortunately it sounds nothing like the V40. Even in bit perfect mode from UAPP there is an extremely colored sound. It sounded very dark to the point of almost muddy. Highs seemed to be extremely lacking, possibly rolling off at the top. If you like a bass boosted dark sound this could be for you, but if you are looking for something closer to neutral I would recommend the ifi iDSD Nano. It is only $10 more at the time of this review and is much more capable (volume controls and has MUCH more power for hungry cans.. And MQA support if you stream from Tidal). Although less portable and convenient. This is all just based on my experience and personal opinion.. Your mileage may vary.

Android USB-C Owners who hate dongles SQ/Volume - this is your answer!
I know I'm one of the folks that has been looking for a good headphone dongle solution forever. I've tried everything from the various versions that came out with each Pixel (v1 and v2, iirc) as well as Apple's newest dongle for the iPad. All three of them how you say sucked if you expected to hear any volume at all.I did not want to start carrying around a seperate DAC/AMP with adapters even though I know they could give me wanted SQ wise. I use Bowers & Wilkins P9's and Fiio F9SE for my travel gear - while the Fiio didn't need the bump as much - the P9's needed it. Both of them sound great and better than the built-in DAC that I use for my computer at home with the Spectra X.The Spectra X basically solved my problems of1. I like good sound quality2. I needed to push the headphones3. PortabilityTo me, after looking around since the first Pixel came out and always being disappointed. This project is a exactly what I've been looking for around the internet (reddit, hifi forums, etc.,).

Sounds great but loss of inline remote is a shame.
Terrific sound quality and a step up from the built in dac or offering from Google, but I do find the lack of any inline remote pass-through annoying, to be clear if your headphones have an inline remote they will not work when used with the spectra, you’ll have to unlock and use your phone to skip tracks or control the volume.I knew this before I purchased but it has been more annoying than I thought, the size of the spectra is attractive as a portable option and when used on the move having to use your phone to control audio is a pain. To be honest I picked up a Razer USB-C dongle which whilst not as good as the spectra is better than the google option and I find myself reaching for this this more these days.Sounds great though and is genuinely small enough to use on the move without being a burden.

音の解像度が格段に上がった。
Zenfone Max Pro

Doesn't even work.
It does connect. For the money that you are paying, is not even worth. Even Chinese can make better copies of them.
