A premium quality very lightweight tool
I needed this for a very specific job, namely my privet hedge is 5 foot high and at some points 3 foot wide, and I can't reach the far side with my heavy petrol hedge trimmers without hurting my back. For years, a couple of times a year I have had to go into my neighbour's garden to finish the hedge, but I've always felt he isn't very keen on me doing this. Now I don't have to. I spent a whole day researching long handled hedge shears, and give or take maybe 5 or 10cm, these are the longest available. But they are exceptionally light, which makes them so easy to use. Despite the light weight, they feel very strong and well built, and obviously they are super sharp when new. Time will tell whether they will sharpen up once they become blunt, but I'm confident they will. One tiny complaint, and I'm really being picky here, is that the blades had been protected in transit with bubble wrap, which had been carelessly cellotaped to the handles. The tape left a load of gluey mess on both handles, which I could only remove with an aerosol glue remover. This is a very expensive premium product, and so it should be packaged with a bit more care. But like I say, I'm being fussy. All in all very pleased.

A Joy to Use!
These shears are over twice the price of tools with fairly similar specs, so I was a little reticent to order them. Two things decided me. First, they have a longer reach than any other telescopic shears and second, the customer reviews were uniformly good. And the reviews are right. The shears are beautifully lightweight, which is especially important given their extended length, cut hedges efficiently and without much effort on my part and the extension mechanism is positive and simple to operate (each outer handle has a series of holes into which a sprung-loaded 'knob', mounted on the inner sleeve, clicks). In summary, they are simple to use, very sharp and very well-balanced.

Brilliant
I was nervous about buying these as quite pricey but I’m so glad I did. I just used them for the first time and they are very good. Very light to hold and cut well. Really pleased. Worth the money. The longer reach as helped me so much. I never leave reviews but I had to on this one

This was a birthday gift for my father who has sadly been suffering from a crippling cancer which has reduced his mobility and strength. He is a keen gardener and had assumed his pruning days were behind him. Until he tried these shears. Then I received no less than a dozen texts at work as he went on an all-day pruning frenzy marvelling at their weight, sharpness and ease of use. Even my mother suffered unaccustomed trouble as she tried to encourage him back inside for his afternoon tea. So yes 5 out of 5 stars I guess (although the beneficiary in this case didn't actually have to pay for them which knowing my father as I do would have enhanced their perceived effectiveness).

Amazing piece of kit which I use professionally
Amazing piece of kit which I use professionally. Very light and very sharp with a very long reach. I've not needed to fetch a ladder so often and have cut this summer's rampant growth back effortlessly. The blades are quite short so you can't cut a huge amount with each chop, but that suits me.

Really good quality and sharp blades
I already had the standard ARS shears, but needed these to reach higher and further across tops of hedges. Really good quality and sharp blades. Can cut thicker stems than you might imagine, and they are lightweight, so very well designed for long periods of use.

Very good product
Very good extending shears. Lightweight and simple, reliable extending mechanism. The blades are very sharp, but possibly not quite in the same league as the truly lethal ARS100s.Pleased with purchase and recommend.

Shame About the Name but...
What's not to like -these are sexy shears indeed. Lightweight which is a must when doing long stints of cutting especially when you're up a ladder and the telescopic handles give you two extension lengths to choose from other than the closed size. Excellent cuts from very sharp blades...I'd never buy anything that's not Japanese made for garden work involving pruning etc.
