Lodge L8SK3 10.25" Skillet With Assist Handle

This is the platonic ideal of a cast iron skillet. Cheap, durable, and very good at what it does. If you're going to be stuck on a desert island with just one pan, this is it.

I never had much luck with cast iron, it always ended up in camping gear. I got a good deal on this so I figured I'd give it a try. I have to say I love this pan. I can char a burger without filling my place with smoke and it doesn't even stick to or burn the pan. I use it for everything now. Wash, dry right away, rub on a very thin layer if oil, place on burner a few min and its ready for next time. Do not use a spray oil like Pam you'll have a sticky mess.

Works really well

Cast iron skillet, need I say more...ok, I will. Comes pre seasoned. I sprayed mine with a light coat of olive oil. Spraying too much will result in the pan being sticky. Put it in the oven at 450 for an hour with a pan under it to catch an dripping that might happen. Let it cool in the oven. Ready for first use.

Cast iron skillets are the cat's meow. I didn't know how to rate it for "Heat resistance"...because it doesn't have any, nor should it. It gets hot, evenly. It doesn't warp. It never wears out. It will be used to cook stuff for your descendants descendants long after you're just a bitter memory.

I really enjoy this pan. As other review has said, during first few times, the pan was sticky so be prepared. But I used it in the oven a lot. During the process, the pan has absorb quite a lot oil. Now it works perfectly. I used it for everything, pan fried, broil, bake.... I am ready to buy another one.
