NDJ-9S Rotary Viscometer 15-100,000 mpa.s Digital Viscosity Meter Tester with Temp Probe Digital Display Viscometer 100-240v

I purchased this rotational viscometer to characterize some non-Newtonian liquid mixtures at work. I decided to give this a try because it's about 1/4 of the price of the industry standard equivalent viscometers. For this price point, I found the unit to be great in my application.I was concerned about what material was used to manufacture the spindles. I reached out to the seller and received information within a day (it's 304 Stainless Steel in case you're curious). I was satisfied with their quick response.After conducting a gage R&R study on the equipment with a range of my samples, I found the advertised +/-5% accuracy to be about right. This level of repeatability/reproducibility met my needs and gave me enough resolution to control my processes better. I did not attempt to assess the accuracy of the measurement against a known standard, as I was only concerned with the consistency with which it measured. You may need to conduct your own experiment or calibration if you're concerned about the absolute viscosity of a liquid. If you need something more accurate (+/- 1%), you may want to look at some of the Brookfield units. Be prepared to spend a couple grand though.Overall, I'm pretty happy with this unit so far. It was very easy to set up and use, despite the owner's manual being written in broken English, missing some paragraphs, and having one or two typos. Based on the perceived value and the customer support I received, I'm rating it at 5 stars. I'll update this review if I have any durability issues in the future.

UI does this all too often, making for very difficult measurements. I should've just paid more for the brand name.
