Cold Steel Boomerang - Polypropylene

To begin, there is a difference between a returning and a non-returning kylie (karli or boomerang). This is definitely a non-returning boomerang. Even if you could get it to return (as another reviewer observed, it is not aerodynamically shaped for a return flight) its size, weight, and sharp edges make that a foolishly dangerous prospect. This is a replica hunting kylie and like everything else Cold Steel makes, is fairly bulletproof. It is a lot of fun and good exercise to throw it at a target ( plastic bucket works, as do yucca plants) or for distance. Watch some videos on throwing a non-returning kylie - the technique is entirely different that throwing a returning boomerang. Once you get the hang of it - the kylie functions as intended and make a cool propeller sounds as it files through the air. I also throw it like a hatchet at a stack of straw bails. Once you get the rotational distance right, it is as satisfying as throwing an edged weapon.If you want a large sturdy non-returning kylie, this is a great choice and a very reasonable price compared to other throwing sticks. If you want a returning boomerang, look elsewhere.

It got chewed up by soft plants and dirt, it flies well if you know what you doing, to all of the people complaining about it not being an airfoil, learn aeronautics and look up how Karli are carved (the real name for non returning "boomerangs" are karli or kylie) this is a great practice karli, in preparation for a proper one, but it is too fragile fo be a proper survival tool, but also too dangerous to be a toy, for the cost it is great, and when mine breaks I will buy another for practice, but these were used as weapons, as digging tools, to skin animals, to hunt, and this version would not stand up to that abuse for long, I would not trust my life to this tool. It is only good for training your arm and aim, to get better hand eye coordination, but that is all it is.

All good works as a weapon.It just don't return.everything else is good.

well.... after one good throw from my dad in a large hay field, I can officially say it got one good throw lol. Either we will find it, or the brush hog will in the spring. I bought 3 so we shall see (maybe in a field with shorter grass)

Not as heavy as I thought they’d be after seeing the damage they did in multiple videos- they’ll take a beating, I don’t expect them to last forever but I’m definitely looking forward to the day I get to use this in the name of self defense 😂💪💯🤠 gonna order a couple more pairs just in case. I love these things if you can’t tell. They’re not terribly sharp but with the right amount of force it doesn’t matter. I guess you could use it to hunt- it’s capable- but please don’t 😅 nothing about this is humane and I dig it.

Huge boomerang that has poor aerodynamics. On a longer throw the thing just nose dives. Soft plastic that does not hold up well at all. Actual boomerangs are flat on one side, this is curved on both. It was poorly designed and is a waste of money. Worst Cold Steel product I have ever purchased.

The boomerang is all made of bendable plastic, the one used for milk bottles, but much-much stronger and thicker, so you cannot literally crack or chip it away, but it scratches and dents just fine against hard rocks or asphalt. It would not say it flies pretty far because it weighs too light for a long flight and loses its aerodynamic force very soon to the oncoming airflow. My farthest throw averages 100 feet. I am planning to purchase a couple of more boomerangs and make up a case for them because I got tired of walking after a missed-shot boomerang up and down a soccer pitch, so don't make my mistake and consider buying at least two of them.
