Very high quality jig
I owned a cabinet shop many years ago and we used to do these holes in cabinets prior to assembly on either a CNC router ($100,000) or a Blum machine ($3000). We also did these with a handmade jig for those applications where holes were needed after the cabinets were already built. This jig outperforms any handmade jig (we typically used wood or plexiglass) and frankly outperforms the Blum machine in terms of precision. The gold standard in my experience was always the CNC router, which had both precision and quality holes, and that is still the case. However, this jig gets as close to those results as you could expect for hand drilled holes. There are a couple improvements that I think could be made, but the product is so good that I still have to give it 5 stars. One thing that would make it even better would be the inclusion of a brad point drill rather than the standard drills it comes with. Maybe one of each even instead of both standard. Bradpoints are the bit of choice whether you are doing plywood or melamine boxes and leave a much cleaner hole. If you buy this jig, I'd recommend also ordering a bradpoint to go with it.The other thing that would be helpful is adding an indicator to the jig designed to place holes for hinge plates specifically. When making cabinets, I don't know many who just run holes the entire length of the cabinet. I always preferred to locate holes just for the hinge plates, then leave a space toward the middle before the first set of holes for shelves begin. This is a cleaner look and less holes to drill. Nobody is going to be installing a shelf below or above the bottom and top hinges unless the door has three hinges (in which case the middle hinge plate holes are just shelf pin holes). Having a pair of holes highlighted as hinge plate holes at an appropriate distance from bottom and top of the jig would be useful. I'll be painting those locations red for quick reference, but it would be nice if they came that way.It would also be nice if the jig allowed for the installation of additional holes for drawer slides. Again, for drawer box cabinets there is no need to drill tons of holes, but without this feature you kind of have to run holes from the bottom of the cabinet all the way to the top of the cabinet for the drawer slides to be level. if you could rotate the jig and drill holes horizontally into the box, you could install drawer slides without doing full shelving drill outs.

This thing....
This Shelf Pin Jig really works well. If you are looking for a Shelf Pin Jig, then this will prove it’s worth. Comes with a case and all attachment as advertised. Got my entire cabinet drilled out in under 10 minutes.Tip: Use a strip of painter taper along the centerline of your holes to ensure there aren’t any little tear-out slivers. Nice and clean.

A must have for custom shelf projects
Sturdy, well made, helped me put shelves in a custom built-in super quickly. I pressed firmly and did not have any tear out of the melamine shelves I was drilling into.

I want to give it 5 stars
This product really deserves 5 stars, it is crazy thick, super accurate, well thought out and impressive over all. The only knock I have on it is that the drill hole guides that come with it are either 5mm or 1/4 (6mm). To get the ability to do both common size holes, you have to buy two sets of these. I am honestly going to get some HSS bolts and make the other size for this. If you could buy both size hole guides, I would give this 10 stars.

Very good
Very good value , very well made . Love all the adjustments. For the cost it’s a no brainer .The drill bit is the only weak link . Slight tear out around the hole . But I’m just being picky. For a portable jig 10/10

Tolle Schablone

Nice jig
This kit comes in a nice plastic storage box and includes two 5mm bits (not Brad-point), one depth stop collar and one registration pin. Upon receiving it, I realized I could have bought the 1/4” version and used 1/4 to 5mm step down bits, which would have allowed me to use the same jig for 1/4” and 5mm holes. The manufacturer does not currently offer 1/4” drill inserts to swap out.
