Very fun and good motion
I got these to possibly rig something up for a dragon costume from my teenager. It would be perfect for a smaller kid. Even still- it's a fun little thing to have and I do think it will work for our purposes with some switching. The wings clip in- and I wish they clipped in "opposite" but they clip in the same direction so if you want to take them apart, the little piece you have to push in to unclip them is difficult to undo on the one side. The wings also flip in and out but you have to be careful that you turn them the right way so that you don't break the hinge/joint.The pack itself is pretty light weight, even with batteries installed. I like the wing motions- they are fun, the don't exactly flap the way they do in the product video, but they do flap, and it's really fun. We didn't really like the sounds that it made, but I could see a little boy liking them. The elastic straps were a bit tight for my kid, and even on my younger kid they were a bit smaller than I would have liked, but they adjust and I think it would be pretty easy to go get longer webbing to put in the sliders and make them longer as needed.Overall I'm a little worried about the durability, and would give this 4.5 stars if I could.

Kids will absolutely love this
I actually bought these to zip tie to a skeleton as part of our Halloween display this year and I think they are going to look awesome for that. The wings fold out into their full length and clip into the main battery pack/motor which is fairly good sized but not terribly heavy. I think a child could definitely wear these comfortably with the included straps. The straps are easy to lengthen and shorten so they'd be good for a wide range of ages. There is a button on the battery pack, between the wings that turns them on and off. One push gets the wings flapping and turns on the sound effects of a dragons roar and what sounds to me like breathing fire. If you press it again, the sound effects stop but the wings keep flapping. A third press turns them off. A child won't be able to reach the button without taking the wings off or would need some help turning them on and off. The motor is also pretty loud and could get annoying to listen to pretty quickly. It also comes with several sets of string lights that are supposed to connect to the wings to light them up but no real instructions on how to do that. We haven't been able to figure that but out yet. The instructions are really basic and not very helpful at all. I'm also taking off a star because once you clip the wings into the battery pack you can't get them back out again. I was hoping I'd be able to take it apart to store this in its box but nope. Those wings aren't going anywhere and they are fairly good sized.

Fun, but could use some changes
Pros, Cons, and TipsMy grandson already has a dragon tail that he loves to strap on and I thought these would make a fun addition for pretend play at grandmas'I am including numbers in the text that correspond to the pictures. When I first saw the box I thought it made a great presentation for gift giving, (1) but when I opened it I realized that there is more assembly required than most children have the patience to wait for when they are excited to try them. (2) If you are just getting them for a costume this isn’t a factor. That being said, although the directions are clear some steps are left out and I believe the order of assembly could be tweaked.First, they don’t mention inserting the batteries and this is absolutely the first thing you should do.Next attach the straps. If you have already attached the wings it would be awkward. Then clip in the lights and make sure everything is working.Fold out the wings, attach them, and weave in the lights as indicated. I put in an extra loop at the end to keep them in place. (3)Main Con for me: I wish there was a setting that would just have the lights on. (A) It’s great that the sound can be turned off because for interactive play (and the sanity of parents) that would be best.(B) The motor is loud in my opinion and the moving wings tend to throw things off balance when a child is running around.(C) I'd like to be able to choose just the lights most of the time.

Printed only on one side
And these are ridiculously difficult to assemble.
