Prima Soft Balalaika Bag

I purchased a balalaika, on a whim, from a pawn shop. I should have investigated the instrument more closely because I discovered, at home, that it had many nicks in the wood, and the rosette that had initially captured my attention is merely a piece of paper that was lacquered onto what appears to be cheap plywood. Nonetheless, I decided that I would treat the cheaply-made, over-priced instrument with care, and I decided to purchase a case for it. This soft-covered case is well-made. It is a high quality case that fits my balalaika like a glove. Place the instrument, string side down into the case, and zip the sides. There is a zipper pocket that could hold extra strings. The strap is designed to place over one shoulder or two (because there are two metal rings), and there is a sturdy handle so the instrument could be held like a suitcase. This case is likely worth more than the instrument I purchased. I think it is well worth protecting a musical instrument, and I highly recommend this case. The zippers work well; they run smoothly on their tracks. Even if I had purchased a new balalaika that was valuable, I would still recommend this case. I am pleased with this case.

Perfect fit

So easy to fit to my prima. Makes the instrument that much easier to transport on the go. Love it. Its light enough yet padded where it should be to keep it safe from the occasional bump.

One of the reviewers said it didn't fit, too small. Wrong. The balalaika has to fit so the front of the instrument faces the back of the bag. This way the instrument fits in fine. Bag is fine for the price. Could have more padding but then it would be bigger - everything is a tradeoff.

My Prima fits nicely. Carry handle and shoulder strap. Zippered pouch holds spare strings. 2 way zipper opens entire case.
