Borosil Akhand Diya (Medium, Brass)

I ordered the Borosil akhand diya in medium size, first from a seller shipping from India. What I received was not Borosil, but an unbranded item of very poor quality. The glass is unbranded, with sharp unpolished edges, cut quite crookedly, and a bubble in the glass. The brass was poorly crafted in fit and finish. When assembled, the diya was very lopsided. Overall, a very poor knockoff.Just shortly after placing that first order, I had ordered a second one, but this one being shipped from Amazon. It arrived promptly and safely in its original protective packaging and it’s genuine, beautiful and perfect… all I hoped it would be. Most pleased here, 5 stars +!Your best bet is to order from the seller whose item is shipped by Amazon.

I have to take this Jyot upstairs because that's where I've set up my prayer room. The lid falls off with only a simple movement. I have another Jyot and the lid is made to stay on and it never falls when I'm walking around with it inside a plate. This would be especially unsafe If you have to move the Jyot when it is already lit. I am still using it and will replace it as I'm traveling to India soon. This is not what I consider to be of quality.Review EDIT!!I just ordered another piece from this seller. The piece is near perfect. Before buying again [I'll admit I dreaded it because of the previous one I bought that was not great] I checked out all Ebay sellers [ pretty much none of them mentioned size clearly. I specifically wanted the medium one] They alao take a whole month to arrive. The ones I got from India are too SMALL. I am really happy I went ahead and ordered from this seller. I was soooooo elated to see this beatiful piece that I decided to order one more. It arrived in a day. We all know that we are paying about 5X's more buying it on any American online market. So we expect a really perfect item. Well worth tge price. Highly recommend!

First impression, I found diya too small but its deep and holds lots of oil. It stays lit for surely 7-8 hours. I am very happy with the purchase.

I purchased the smaller one like this the first time I ordered from this seller. It's made perfect! This large one is disproportionately made and not worth buying. The manufacturer didn't make the diya bowl big/tall enough for the size of the glass and its crooked. They were being cheap and stingy with using the brass. If you look at the box photo it's exactly how the lamp should be made. The name on the glass should be exactly where it is on the box when you put the lamp together just like the first one i purchased thats also in the photo. My pictures tell the story best. Not worth the money. A diya is used for sacred offerings to the Hindu Gods and Goddesses it should be made with respect and to the highest quality available. If I used this lamp it would be disrespectful because I know it isn't of the highest quality. The lamps are beautiful if they are made the right way every time. I'm disappointed and had planned to purchase 8 more of them.
