Recommended.
Excellent book which fills a gap in the history of surveillance activities of this era. RAF Sculthorpe has always had a secretive air about it being such a huge base in a remote area & it is very interesting to discover as much as possible what exactly went on there .

Excellent condition
Well compiled, with information from the beginnings of the Sculthorpe Airfield through to its end. Many pictures of personnel and aircraft. We sent this as a gift to an ex USAF serviceman who was at the Sculthorpe Base in the early 1950s.

Very good. A little let down for me
Very good. A little let down for me, as an enthusiast and local historian, by some minor unneccesary errors that should not have got through, e.g. photo of a C-130 Hercules labelled incorrectly, and a few other glaring mistakes such as the equipment used by the Air Rescue squadron..... But - generally well researched, interesting, and a good addition to the existing literature about the early USAF in europe.

I really enjoyed this book because I live near sculthorpe and remember when the base was open and had a lot of friends whose parents were on the base.

Very detailed account of Sculthorpe, a secret no longer
An excellent book packed with infinite detail of aircraft and personnel. A must for historians, aircraft buffs and lovers of East Anglia alike. Also a must for American ex-service personnel.

Something one may not know
Great book, couldn't be more pleased. I lived the era right in the middle of this book as a USAF dependant kid attending 5th through 8th grade at the DOD dependant school on base 1957 - 1961. I experienced many of the things covered in this book. my only regret is that my Dad couldn't enjoy it as well. There are many facets not generally known about the history and goings on at Sculthorpe. The author uses many sources to get to the point, official military sources, other authors ( not too many writing about this subject) and many people stationed at Sculthorpe through the years along with so many local citizens young and old.All in all a very well done book covering this often missed piece of history.

Great Book
A great resource for those who want to learn about Korean War and the top secret missions of our troops. My father was at Sculthorpe during this time and his plane is pictured in the book. A special treat for him.
