Clover Natural Fit Leather Thimble: Medium, 1

perfect for stitch-aholics like me
I bought this in May this year and it’s just starting to get to the point of looking to replace it. I’m an avid cross stitcher, I’m disabled and unable to work due to physical conditions, I’m mostly housebound and cross stitching is my way of coping, I do about 4-5 hours (spread across the day) every day, so I think this thimble has lasted well (plus my cat has taken a liking to it and thinks it’s a toy, when I wake in the morning I often find it in the middle of the floor).I can only use leather thimbles due to allergies and skin issues, I’ve tried many different types and this one is by far my favourite. The leather is the thickest I’ve come across, but no so thick as to prevent feeling what you’re holding, it’s soft but durable. The inside is kind of brushed (similar to suede) to make it more comfortable to wear, I suffer Erythromelalgia, a rare disorder which causes intense heat in my hands and feet, I worried that wearing a leather thimble would cause too much warmth in my finger which could result in pain, but I’ve had no issues with that, my finger doesn’t get hot or sweaty.I have tiny hands even for a woman and the small size is perfect, it stays on as long as I need without struggle and without being tight either, I have short nails and it comes down to just below the knuckle below the nail. The leather is stitched very well, there’s no signs at all of it coming apart, others I’ve tried are glued and fall apart in a month or two. There is no metal plate inside this like in others, but honestly I’ve had no issues with the needle piercing the leather until recently and I have some stubborn needles when my canvas is heavily stitched and I’m filling gaps. It has now gotten to the point where the area I use to push the needle has started to wear and with stubborn stitches the needle has gone through the leather a few times, but the leather is thick enough to slow the needle down so it’s not actually come into contact with skin yet, but it’s a matter of time at this point, that being said any material will show signs of wearing down and weakening after daily intense use so this shouldn’t be seen as a flaw, it’s just natural. For the occasional needle worker this thimble would last years, for those who stitch an hour or two after work, this thimble would likely last a few years, for those like me or professionals it will last 6-9 months which is much better than any of the others I’ve used (and I’ve tried A LOT).I highly recommend this to anyone who regularly works with needles (sewing not medical 😂)

Size Guide here, read on 👉👉
If you are wondering what size thimble to order (the large or the medium,) on the packet of my (large) thimble there is a 17.5mm diameter hole cut into the cardboard and this is exactly the same size of the thimble. So, you can draw a circle on paper that is 17.5mm across (diameter,) cut it out and poke your finger in to check if it goes in nicely or get 17.5mm of string or thread and make a loop and do the same. I am a man and it fitted me perfectly but it might be a little loose on a ladies finger. Or, even better, you could order both and return the one that you don't want. I am glad I ordered mine because it is really good quality and will last me for years. It doesn't make your finger sweaty either. Good luck!! 🙂👌👍

Brilliant value and great for crocheting.
I have altered my ring for crocheting. I used needle nose pliers and bent the end of the ring to stop wool tension from hurting and denting my finger. It was cheaper than buying a ring especially designed to do this. The metal has not split or weakened in the process of me altering the ring, so for the price I am very happy and so is my finger ! I can also use this as an ordinary thimble would be.

Absolutely pleased with it!
I am an avid quilter but I don't like using traditional quilting thimbles. I find them hard to use. I have always found tradtional, metal thimbles difficult to use; not just quilting thimbles. This leather thimble allows me to be able to push the needle through the thick fabric easily without injury, but the best part is that the one I use on the other hand allows me to be able to "feel" the needle without actually hurting my finger. To ensure that the needle passes through all the layers, I have always felt the needle before pushing the needle back up, but it was causing little holes in my finger. This thimble allows me to be able to feel the needle without pain. I have not found another thimble with the ability to feel the needle. Also, it is comfortable to wear. I can bend my finger without too much difficulty even though the length of it goes to the knuckle. It was a little stiff at first, but that was to be expected with leather. At first, I wasn't sure that I got the right size because I had to push it on with a little difficulty. But after the first few days, it softened up and now it is easier to put on my finger. If I had any criticism at all, it would be that I wish it was a little bit shorter.

Love these !'''
Ive tried so many leather finger protectors and none of them compare in fit/quality/stitching I use 3 of these for when im felting and they are 100% perfect. They are made of excellent quality soft leather, with double leather around the lower part of the finger, and neatly stitcher to fit snugly around the nail on top. They do give a little so have swapped them to the finger they fit the best. They are expensive...but unlike the cheap ones that have ended up in the bin, these are well worth the money as they should last a very long time...AND they stop my finger tips getting pricked!

Works well for me
I prefer this to a regular thimble. Partly cos I have great big fingers and most thimbles are too small but I like the way this one fits too. I put it on my middle finger, sideways on and it's in just the right place to be useful, You can stretch it open or squeeze it tighter so it stays on firmly and you can still use your finger for other things while it's on.

Fabulous
Fabulous thimble. After trying so many different thimbles, I have finally found the perfect one! As someone with longer nails at times this is the best thimble on the market. Even without having long finger nails, it is comfortable to wear and does a great job. The only thimble I would use now and have repurchased already to have 2, one for a travel sewing case, so I’m never without one. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a thimble.

My dad says it's acceptable.
My dad is a man of few words, so when I asked him of his views, regarding this ring, he just says it was acceptable. But considering it's only when he knew, I was going to lodge a complaint, he finally admitted it had arrived. I realised he wanted another one, so he clearly does like this thimble.
